  1. Anti

    Anti 14.7 x 14.7 = 44.1

i'm pulling the PTU through to the cabin, and extending the rest in that bunch to run through the fender.

cool, I might just give that a go. the loom along the chassis rail would be half the size after that.

now that my engine is coming out this is what I'll be doing

I'll also be pulling all earths in the engine bay out and bolting them down at the ECU and rerouting the ABS wires through the fenderwells

doesn't seem all that hard to be honest

not my zed car but here is a couple of vids of me this month at WSID in my BF XR6 turbo using my gopro hero 3 black. i was running $140 Bridgestones and 286rwkw. my best time was a 12.34 @ 188kph with a 2.0 60ft. Time for more power and drag radials for an 11 sec daily.

It's been a long time since my last update and not much has happened. I have been contemplating the future of my car due to all the electrical dramas. I have ordered a brand new wiring harness from http://www.wiringspecialties.com/ so when that arrives I'll install it and see what happens.
Anyone who lives on the NSW south coast will know all about the mental storms we've been having lately, me poor car was stuck out in the back yard with only a leaky tarp over it. Inside the car was bone dry but the engine bay got trashed because of the bonnet vent letting in water....

Looks bad but it should clean up pretty easily. This also gives me more incentive to paint everything.
I bought a coolant overflow tank from local metal fabricator http://www.jntperformance.com.au/ and he also sold me the cool looking black Aeroflow fittings. This bloke does some top quality work. I just mounted it on a slab of alloy cut off but I'll make up a much better looking one soon....

This arvo i made the most of the sunshine and ripped out the old tired wiring harness, now i just have to sit patiently and wait for the new one to arrive....

another video of me racing last month. ran a 12.2 this time. i don't know why but for some reason they put me in with all the muscle cars, they ran open pipes so everytime we did a burnout i couldn't hear my car over the v8s. i just had to click it into second and watch the speedo and keep it over 100kph.

8 minute video for 12.2 pass haha. You need some basic video editing software. Nice work with the low 12 pass. WSID looks like a bloody fantastic venue, I wish we had something half as good!

Lol I know what you mean but I always used to enjoy watching videos with the build up before the race so I like to do the same. I actually use Windows movie maker to edit movies and I recently got Prodrenalin movie editing program to have a crack at.

I gave the engine bay a good clean up this weekend and I also managed to finish my smoothed and shaved timing belt covers. I just sat them in place to see how they look and I still need to buy some new shiny bolts for them. I also modified the bottoms of them so i only have to remove the drivers side intake pipes to fit or remove them. There's a bit of lint and dust on them in the pics. I want to put on a pattern that I have found but don't know if i should use vinyl or not.

made a solid mount for the catch can..

got home from work today and this was waiting for me..

my brand spanking new engine wiring harness from Wiring Specialties. It comes with fitting instructions and stickers..

They also come with the injector harness made separately and you can order new or old style injector plugs. You just unplug one and plug the other in. I bought the old style one for now until i get new injectors..

next couple of weeks are gunna be busy with fitting the harness, changing oil and filters, flushing the old fuel out of everywhere and just generally checking things. Fingers crossed this fixes my dramas and then its time to go drifting :br:

    IT'S ALIIIVE!!!!
I layed out the harness ontop of the engine and started by plugging in the injectors, then the coils and by then all the other plugs basically fell on top or close to their corresponding plugs. The instructions were easy to follow by telling which colour wires go where. If anyone is looking for a replacement harness then these ones are definately the way to go. They even come with series 2 PTU plugs and both series 1 and 2 CAS on the same loom.
Now I need to give it a good service because the oil is old and the fuel octane must be in the negative rating by now. Also have to reset the idle because it doesn't go under 2 grand and then start fixing the harness to where it's meant to go.

    bad pics but meh..

so much for the hidden wiring :p

I'm so excited now that it's running again, can't wait to go for a spin.

I got all the harness sorted out and just need to decide on a permanent spot for the series 2 ptu and the coolant sensors. Gave the poor car new fuel and filter, new oil and filter and cleaned the plugs. It runs sweet now and i'm stoked my beast is finally going. Next important jobs on the list are; new clutch fluid, new brake fluid and a new top idler pulley.

I also ran new wires from the coolant temp, oil pressure and boost gauges and made up a neat harness with an all in one plug just behind the dash. I left plenty of wire so it's easy to remove the stereo surround and work in there.

Then I decided to paint the calipers black and give the car a wash. I'll take it to work soon and give it a full detail and major buff job. I've done a lot of other little borong jobs on it and it's a great feeling having the car in one piece, running smooth and with no random nuts bolts or car bits sitting in the boot or glovebox.

Hopefully soon I can actually start doing mods for drifting and getting some practice smashing tyres.

many good things have happened to my four wheeled friend over the past few months. I decided to put my car into a show and shine at Kiama in January which meant I had to pull my finger out to clean up the car and fix a few things.
I bought a pair of foglight ducts from AtillaZ, rubbed them back, trimmed them a little and painted them gloss black....

I made a bracket to bolt the radiator down because it was originally held in with gravity. Just gotta get some shorter bolts....

Carbon wrapped the filler plug for the aerial hole....

And I drove the car to work a couple of times (gotta love trade plates :D) to give it a full detail inside and out. I ended up buffing it three times, once with cutting compound, once with swirl remover and the last time with polish. We also use a new kind of clay bar method with a cloth. the top side is like a microfibre and the bottom is a really sticky clay like material, works must better and faster. I painted the calipers, hubs and under guards black and completly cleaned the interior.
I was going to buy some black DriftTek 17x9 +12s but the dude sold them on me at the last minute, I was mega pissed off so I had to resort to using the rims off my XR6 turbo. All in all I think it came up pretty sweet....

The black paint on the bonnet was all blotchy so I Plastidipped it the other day, I now want to plistidip everything.
When I got home from work today I had a nice surprise waiting for me.. my Initial Drift membership package....

Time to go toasting some freakin tyres :br:

Drift rims teaser photos. Only got a pair of fronts for now but I'll be getting some rears soon enough. 17x9 +15 from Otomoto and I'll get the same size all round for my own convenience.

Now it needs coilovers so I can slam it and also need some camber arms too. The tyres poke out just a small amount so I'll get the guard roller out on the weekend just to make sure it doesn't catch the lips. I have a few little jobs to do on it but it's pretty much ready to go drifting in April. I fitted a fire extinguisher and am taking it to work Monday to drain out all the old brake fluid and put in some new stuff.
