Since I have to replace my own Clutch Master Cylinder, I am considering organizing a group buy for a set of:

    1x Clutch Master Cylinder, &
    1x Clutch Slave Cylinder

I am only organizing the GB for the purchase of BOTH the Master & the Slave Cylinders, and do not want to break it down into buying one or the other as that's what I've been offered so that's what I'm offering you. Anyway, most workshops recommend replacing both when one of the two requires replacement.

The GB will be for your choice of any of the below Clutch Master Cylinders and the one standard Z32 Slave Cylinder, and it's up to you to advise me which Master Cylinder will suit your purpose. The description under each is what I've been told, but it is up to you to check which will suit your Zed.

The price for the 2 items is $180 or so PLUS postage to you.

The price seems good to me, as the following is approximately what some suppliers charge for the same 2 items:

Nissan Australia - AUD$286.09 (NA Zeds, pick-up only)
    TTZED - AUD$235.48 (delivered)
Courtesy Nissan - about AUD$230-ish delivered (but this is a guesstimate due to exchange rate fluctuation, and on shipping costs based on past experience)
COZ - about AUD$230-ish delivered (but this is a guesstimate due to exchange rate fluctuation)

Given these prices, I thought $180 + post sounded pretty good.

    IMPORTANT STUFF:
    1. A minimum of 10 sets would need to be ordered.
    2. If you order, they will be posted to you at the earliest, late-Aug/Sept 2007. Why? Coz I'm still overseas and can't post what I do not have in my hands.
    3. Payment required up-front.
    4. Yes - I know you can buy a rebuild kit, but I'm not offering that as I don't personally want to take that route.
    5. Lastly, the price quoted at the moment is not fixed as the exchange rate on the day of purchase may be significantly different. The prices quoted above were based on exchange rates from when I got the prices some time ago.

This is an EOI ONLY at this stage, and I'll gauge the response in about 1 week to see if it's a go-er. In the mean time I'll see if I can get an even better price.

I don't really need them but if you need someone to bump you over the 10 limit I'll take a set. When you say delivery, from where exactly are we talking?

All postage will be from Melbourne. I'm not sure of the ...

package size, but I can't imagine it would be more (maximum) $15. I reckon somewhere around $10 should do it.

If this GB goes ahead, I'll just add $15 to the final price, and whatever is not used for postage I'll put in an envelope in the parcel and send it back to you.

Remember there is a difference between USDM and JDM clutch master cylinders. Coz doesn't have the JDM in stock, as I'm guessing neither does Courtesy.

That's why I just grabbed mine from TTZ.

    Good suggestion Vincent......

a MUST for 17yr old zeds, and you are correct in doing both together.

Have you thought about adding a s/s braided one piece clutch line to the GB ? One of the best things I ever did was to fit a one piece clutch line to my zeds when I did the master/slave combo. It reduces your bleed time from about 45 mins down to about 5 mins  & instead of using a litre of fluid for a bleed you only use about 200mls

If you are shopping for price you might want to drop a line to UAS. If I remember correctly they can do m/cylinder for about $120 & slave was about $50. Prices may have gone up a bit but a GB will outweigh the cost of inflation.

    Hi Vincent,

I think I would be interested, if there is a few other price checks to make sure we are actually getting a really good deal.

Sounds like UAS has a good deal - have you checked this claim out yet?

    Cheers.

Vincent, I'm interested, but before giving a 100% commitment I'd like to be absolutely certain I would be getting components that can be fitted to a J-spec Z. I'm referring particularly to ZDUCTIV's comment (see below). Yours may well be J-spec and coming from a totally different source.

Don't worry RZM. I got this information from Coz when I was trying to organise parts for my own clutch job. I was informed the part number I was looking for was not available but I believe I just provided a part number that had been updated, and Coz wasn't sure if the USDM and JDM cylinders were different. That's why I purchased the parts from TTZ (who's customer service was EXCELLENT). I looked into it some more after reading this thread and the early series TT master's are the same according to Nissan FAST, but the NA and late series TT are different, so what I originally posted is not entirely accurate, and Vincent can look towards CZP and the like to get the early series TT master cylinders, which is what I'm guessing what will be required by most people on the forum.

I have passed all the part number's and associated years on to Vincent, so there shouldn't be any issue.

    Update........

Firstly, ZDUCTIV has been very helpful in making sure that the correct Master Clutch Cylinders are definitely being bought. Thanks heaps! :)

Secondly, I'm not sure if it's a language problem, but I cannot get a understandable answer about the NA set from the supplier. I want to ensure that I do NOT get the USDM by mistake, and I'm not getting enough info to satisfy me. The TT set (1989-1991/1992) should be no problem.

So, as a back up I'll check with some other suppliers (like UAS) and see what they can offer.

    Keep you guys posted.

Everybody that has shown interest has been PM'd.

Anyone wanting to join in for $190 POSTED can do so for the 89-08/92 TT Master Clutch Cyl Set ONLY, but please do this ASAP as I want to get this GB moving.

To all those already PM'd, only CurnZ has replied. Could the others please reply.

    Thanks.
