Hey Guys, so glad to see the forum up and running again :) Hallelujah.

    Just need some suggestions/thoughts.

I have a series 1 automatic TT motor for a rebuild and just wondering if it's worth updating it to a series 2 motoro_O

Also, the upper plenum on the S1 engine in the car currently has been vapour blasted and looks like new, if I was to update to series 2 motor, the lower planum I know is different, due to the revised fuel rails, but can a S1 upper plenum hook up to a S2 lower plenum?

Also, is it worth changing the cams on (I think it's exhaust side) to Manual? Is the change that much different?

What do you guys think? is it worth it?

    Thank you
    Peter

series 2 engines have the later style injectors, no need to change rails to fit later style injectors. upper plenums are the same, and will fit, if your going to change to a manual box id change the cams, other wise leave it as is.

    Thanks beaver,
I'm thinking to use a S2 lower plenum and injector rails for this engine.
The one currently in the car already has the new style injectors 550s with the Jim Wolf Technologies adaptors. They work perfectly but thought for the engine that will be rebuilt to just go with a S2 lower plenum and injector rails for simplicity reasons but was not sure if the S1 upper plenum would fit.

I like to keep the S1 upper plenum because all the deletes have been done and easy to get to injectors and also vapour blasting is amazing but not cheap given the complexity of the Z32 plenum.

My Z is auto by the way, so as for the cams, it sounds like no big difference b/w auto & manual?
