What an awesome event, I think I can speak for everyone when I say it was a very successful and fun day!! Not quite sure about that alex! I was home at 7:30. Although I agree it was a great day and good to go around the back track in Wykked. Also to see mikey in his magna out muscle the so called muscle car fords.
PICS Well, dont I feel tired after getting up at 4:30am this morning, driving to DECA, freezing my arse off and then driving home again. But it was heaps of fun!! Dont know about the others but I found it quite special driving in the early hours, being able to to see the sunrise... Anyway, it was an awesome day. For those that care, the DECA day was run by the ford FPV group and us Nissan folk essentially tagged on with them. People were split up into 3 groups, with 2 groups doing the skidpan stuff and the other group going on the back track. Then everyone would rotate and etc etc... At the end of the day there was a Ford vs Nissan run down the skidpan. Essentially, 2 cars pair off, and the one that can get back the quickest while going through the witches hats wins and goes to the next round. The Nissans were awesome and all the Fords were knocked out in about 15 minutes.. In the end it was Jap car vs Jap car and the z32's made me very proud. The title ended up going to a Lancer EVO. Big congrats to all the z32 guys, who did exceptionally well through out the day. One of my highlights though had to be Mikey beating a brand new XR6 turbo (as in, the latest model) with is front wheel drive magna!!! Ok, onto the pics.. Andrew doing some self promotion... (no that is not a dead bird stuck to the bottom of his car as I thought). One of the stars of the day..... Sandeep.... in fact, I think he was quickest out of the z32's..... and quite quick overall.... Chad happy with the amount of rubber that he laid on the tarmac.. The WYKKED clan doing wicked stuff.. Peter Black showing what an NA can do... and then there is Mikeys Magna (RedZedMikey).... I have never seen nor heard a Magna driven to the edge of death as this thing was lol.... it was fun!!!! But boy did it move.. who are these clowns? randon pics... Lining up for the skidpan... Mikey pleased with the thoughts of thrashing the Magna some more and driving a Magna how it should be driven.. Sandeep.... the skidpan killer!!! Lining up for the back track.... no pics of the racing from me as my camera cant zoom that far.. So yeah awesome day.... so much fun, that the Jedi mobile may even hit the skidpan next time.... but lets not get too excited.. Cheers
yeh we forgot to menton.. mikey with his magna was able to kill some v8 falcons and stuff.. great driving skills..... proves thats the car isnt everything its mainly in the driver
Great day today, awesome to see so many zeds out there. bit annoyed at myself though, i'm still abit inconsistent on the skidpan. screwed up the atom track and would have knocked out the evo but got disqualified for hitting a cone oh and the tt's killed me on the backtrack, i had no chance. chad was pretty quick on the backtrack, nice and smooth through all the bends. i reckon those skidpan tracks were perfect for a NA, so small and mainly first gear low speed stuff. the tracks we do on the SAU days are huge and the big power cars dominate. I think I want semi slicks for the front and abit more power and I'll go back and try again. highlights of the day were: -sitting in badxtc when alex did the 2nd gear clutch dump on the back track... car filled with smoke and then we lost traction going over the hill which was pretty scary -alex driving my car harder than i ever have/will. it's good to know that my drivetrain can survive a 7000rpm launch, thanks alex. -riding in chad-mobile around the backtrack -seeing the wykked race car in action -mikey in the magna pulling off awesome handbrake turns Thanks to NDSOC/FPVOC for organising and Peter for sorting out our entries etc. and also aazn for keeping me awake on the drive home. Have some videos to come.
Ok..finally finished sorting through them..so enjoy.. First up were some awesome wheels..they just look so nice Just some random photos... Next a photo of the skidpan..where all the action was taking place.. All aus300 members on the go on the skidpan.. On the backtrack and looking good.. After the backtrack, I thought it was a good chance to get some group photos... The red zeds seemed to dominate the area again.. Just a few WYKKED shots.. A mythical creature - known as Mark.. And lastly just a random one I took on the way home..not the best quality, but I thought it looked pretty neat Would just like to say thank-you to Wykked for letting Craig and I borrow your helmet so we could experience a bit of the action...and thanks to Andrew for letting me go around in your zed on the skidpan..that was fun as! Was good to meet a few new people and have a good ol' chat..can't wait for the next event..
awsome day, loved it. start was slow but once every1 got the jist of things it was really good. personally love the back track more than the skid pan, but i still had a ball there what happened to all the times? who has them and where do they get displayed ??? from what i can remember wykked got the fastest back track time and i was next only 0.3sec behind ? then again this was before the porche had a try. dammmmm that thing went. i think he would have prob took the title. any1 know what happens with the times taken down? or did the numbers dip below ours after a few runs? i wish we had the long wang include the basket ball ring. that looked really good on some of the sau vids i saw on youtube. for the skidpan sandeep would have to take the title. what a gun. you just nailed the times. awsome handling, looked really really good out there. the shootout was great fun. last standing zed and 3rd overall i had to be happy with lol. dam i just got a bit too excited that i was beating the datsun and hit the last hat just before entering the square was so dissapointed. then i would have been up against the evo. now that, i know he would have beat me but it would have been fun to go up against him lol... mikey in the magna, dammm i dont actually think i have ever seen a magna go quite so well. you drove that thing like you designed it very very impressed with what was displayed. our race, personally i dont think either of us won i honestly think it was a draw and that should have been a re-match . but winning is winning . i really liked watching you on the skid pan, your turns were awsome. it always put you in the exact directtion you wanted to go, was greatt alex you put on a great show at the end. no where to be seen and then creeping out of a cloud of smoke was just awsome to see while you were ripping it up should have kept it going ahah. :zlove: some awsome footage of you on the skid pan aswell, some of your drift turns looked great. FORDS = OWNED!! even the newest one out got beaten up by mikey with the magna . thanx guys for organising and helping us get into it WHO IS READY FOR SANDOWN

bloody awesome day, the skidpan events for myself in the beginning was hard as i wasnt using the handbrake but when i started using (thanks sandeep for tightening it up) it was some better times for...i loved the backtrack as i could unleash (in a way seeing it was on .5bar and deciding not go any higher without any error codes)...best time i got was a 47.9sec while the best time of the day was done by a really tough porche who got a 46.x sec pass which was bloody quick...the head to head challenge was great as all the fords were eliminated immediately and it was all the nissans vs datty's vs 1 180sx...i beat a for xr6t ute and the i lost to an old datty (i think it was 1400 or 1600 cant remember) but it was the same thing that beat chad...but overall a great day and i really learnt bout the cars handling etc and cant wait to get one another one...also if you havent done a deca day do one, you'll love it and its an even playing field for both NA's and TT...cant wait to see some more pics Ryan

That's not how I heard it, I am sure I heard "I will definitely have to drive my car in the next one", none of this maybe business.
It was indeed a great day, well worth the early start and clod weather, though as someone mentioned the early start made for a very picturesque drive up there. An E-Type Jag even joined our convoy for a while. Lots of fun on the skidpan and back track, a very steep learning curve on the skidpan, especially the 180 degree turns, even at the end of the day I was getting them wrong as often as getting them right which probably cost me the match against the Golf in the end. Still, I was getting the hang of it and did knock out an XR6T. Yeah, maybe not a good day for all, not a good day to be a Ford driver for a start, though it was all in good fun and they took their severe beating in good spirit. Not a good time to be a cone at the end of the day with Chad on the loose either, when the skidpan was opened up he seemed to spend most of his time in a could of flying cones rather than smoke, though there was plenty of that too. That being said, during most of the skidpan events the cones were pretty safe from the Zeds, everyone seemed to do quite well at it. Looking forward to more pictures from everyone and all the times being posted too. Some interesting work by Mikey in his Magna too, on some of the skidpan events I am sure neither of his back wheels did even a single full rotation over the whole course.
hi guys, Jake here, awesome day, thats all i can say, i am so tired, but unfortunatly i have to be at uni all day today, every part of my body is sore lol had heaps of fun with all the zed guys out there, glad to be able to join the nissans, pretty sweet, best 50 bucks i ever spent. im surprised my car held up, i was fully expecting something to break before the end of the day, but it got home in one piece and on one tank for the whole day! thats like halved my usual fuel consumption!! rach had a go on the skid pan at the end of the day too, which she was stoked about, it think next time you guys might see her down there in a skyline or something, she wanted to buy one before this DECA day but wasnt enough time so she didnt have an appropriate car to do it in, but hopefully next time you guys will see her out there tearing it up fully with the rest of us. anyway, some sweet photos, but wondering if there were any of my car in action, i wanna see my car sideways hehe i found a few more photos on the fpv and xr owners club websire, but they only have a few also, who had vids of the day? i want some......
