That is 7 cars so far..........What the hell has happened to NSW cruises, I remember years ago we use to have 30 - 40 cars. Is this normal cause I have been out of the loop for a while now!

Are there no more zed lovers out there or something!

Please provide more details to start of route

Lili, can you please provide a bit more details to the start of the route so that I can map it out on Google maps ... 7:30am probably a show stopper for some.

Can you provide a bit more details to the start of the route

if your after a huge turnout, as much as you guys hate it, chuck a post up in the nsw section on hardtuned.net/nissansilvia.com and i can almost guarentee that there will be at least 40 people turn up.

every nsw cruise they have had that i've been to has had well over 50 cars, we filled loftus oval's carpark and had guys lining up on the side of the road.

if you want mass numbers you have to go where the people are.

ohh... i got no licence till november so i'm out... may get my brother to drive.

I think were after zeds here,no one wants a cruise full of cars with different colour panels and beaten up front ends.
Id prefer 7 zeds than a whole lot of rubbish IMHO :zlove::zlove:

funny thing is, most of the guys who come on the cruises are cruising nice aristo's, clean s14a's, very nice s15's and all sorts of jap car which most members on this forum would at least want to have a look at for curiosity sake.

seriously, you'll get the odd pig spec car which would look tough if its actually used and the rest of them are clean, very nice on the eye and very quick.

Not meaning to start a flame war ... but

Not meaning to start a flame war ... but just mentioning such a forum and the types of people it attracts turn away most senior long time zed members primarily because of the type of attention it attracts both from the police and the attitudes of some of the participants. Guilty by association.

Personally I wish to meet other zed owners (or admirers) and talk about our cars and renew old friendships.

    My two cents about participation

Hi Lili, the last cruise I organized in June got about 20 cars, I think that is about a good number you can expect.

Your proposed route has a few issues that may turn off some people:
    # the 7:30am start time, with say 30 minutes to get there plus 15 minutes chat, 15 minutes car pack & fuel (so round about 1 hour) then 30 minutes to 1 hour prior to that from morning wake-up routine means about a 5:30am - 6:00am wake-up for some. This may put off some of our younger members who have gone out partying on Saturday.
    # Google maps is estimating about a 4:00 hour ( including 1 hour for getting to start point + meet & greet + refueling along the way) for the trip down to Huskisson. Add couple hours there, then the return trip home you are looking at about a 10 hour day ... Again this may put off some potential participants.
    # Thirdly, apathy or non-committal to respond ... I started to plan a cruise for a little while back but also experienced what I felt was a lack of enthusiasm for participation so when other things started to clash with the potential cruise date I was quite prepare to let it slide.

IMHO, if we / you wish to rekindle the old days when there were 30-40 cars at a cruise then we need to rebuild from scratch as though the 300zx forum in NSW is new, which would require activities such as a cruise at least once a month in alternate directions and alternate Saturdays-Sundays, and of varying lengths (probably starting with a couple hour cruises) ... Well that is my two cents. ...

I WILL CREATE THIS AS A SEPARATE TOPIC THREAD FOR FURTHER DISCUSSION.:diespam:

Look........ if Huskisson is too far for some to get up early, then how about the natio run to Stanwell Tops down to the Gong for lunch ???

The reason for the early start was obvious cause its a long day. Hence the short periods of catching up prior to getting to the destination this is so we could spend more time at lunch and talk about the cars etc....

So im happy to change it to the above if this will get people turning up!

    Only an idea...
What if you guys found a place that was big enuf to accomodate for many zeds... make lunch the main point of meeting and catching up. So theres plenty of time for catching up with everyone meeting new members, having morning tea/lunch etc then head off afterwards. During this time - find out where everyone is located so when it comes to future cruises you know where to locate the central meet point.

If there are members close by each other they could travel together, mini convoys meeting up together. After the main meet, have a smaller plan for a cruise with everyone to join in, get to your destination etc.

Maybe after that - finding out where all the smaller groups of members are, you guys can organise more cruises together. Networking - getting the smaller groups to touch base with their local zedders and go from there.

The cruises we have up here - our meet time is say 930-945 to head off by 10 after a short breifing etc. We head off to the first stop for a short time and regroup, then we head off to the main meet point to catch up with late comers or ones who can join up at that time (after work etc) then we cruise on home - the long way hehe, and head on home, in all i think its a good 4-5 hrs cruise and a great day.

    food for thought..... :zlove:
