Does anyone have wire mesh fitted to the underside of their cowl panel, as in this article on twinturbo.net? Seems a good idea to keep leaves and such out and prevent blockage of the drain. Wouldn't be hard to make up, but I was wondering whether it was an OEM item as I haven't seen one on a car before.

It certainly looks good, but >>>

    >>> for the relatively small price for replacement cowls, assuming yours are stuffed, I'd NOT go with mesh. Why, simply because mesh restricts air-flow - quite dramatically. In a cooler climate OK, but not in QLD. Of course it's a personal thing and if you have a 'leaf & debris' problem, maybe worth considering.Cheers, Rob. :-Z
