Hey guys, im after some advice as to what areas i should really focus on if i want my car to pass the pits. The coppers had a booze bus set up, and after the breathalizer and tests, they did a car inspection and the result was a yellow sticker till the end of the month.

The reasons for my yellow sticker.
    - Hole in exhaust --> replacing exhaust
    - loose battery --> tighted the bracket and is now sturdy
    - apparent stains under the engine block, not sure how he saw it but i have to clean that up.

Does anyone else know any other areas i should pay particular attention to? Im keen for some advice from people who have experienced what im about to go through...

    thanks!

    Oil leak

oil leaks only fail if they drip on the ground

    thats not too bad...

annoying yes..... but not the end of the world...

Fix the exhaust. Secure the battery. Investigate the "stains"... could be oil from rear main seal or higher up in engine.....

wrong. ute didnt pass as there was 'leaking oil' but it doesnt drip, just engine needs a good degrease.

go over everything make sure they work, horn, indicators all that,

stock suspension if ur lowered and youll be fine

just take it over the pitts its highly unlikely it will pass fist go anyway. Then you will know what needs to be done. If you need to get under your car bring a few red bulls over my place and use the hoist ;)

Does anyone know a good place to get my exhaust replaced at?

Would be cheaper to get the 'HOLE' welded, and new gaskets, if its a gasket leak. Stay with stock exhaust if you can, just to keep them happy.

lol the hole is the size of a dvd... big ass hole to weld up. The hole is there due to rust aswell. so getting a new standard exhaust would please me fine :)

I do rego inspections mate, the RTA states that is no failable unless it hits the ground, ie putting oil on the road creating a dangerous surface

    ask

ask some of the guys over here that were wrecking cars, may still have exhaust maybe.
Also Chris ( Ezzupturbo ) has a hoist and has already offered assistance, he may also be able to help you find parts :)

doesnt matter what the ADR's are or anything.. if thats how the inspector wants to be, thats how its going to go down.. just like a cop, you argue the point you are the one that will go down.
