    Miscellaneous other spares.

    THE BAD.
A/C doesn't work, no cruise control, aftermarket mirrors need hooking up electronically, interior light doesn't work, there is a head unit (pioneer) + amp + 12" subby, but none of that shit works because I tried to install it myself. Today it won't start so it's probably fuel pump related somehow, I don't give a shit any more. Started it a fortnight ago and took it for a run and it started and ran fine... Just had a gut-full now.

Will be a decent ride for someone with the know-how and time, plus a bit of cash to finish it off.
There are a couple of very minor pin-dents (dints for you easterners), so small that you battle to pick them up and a minor chip in the rear wing.

Car is not registered, but the plates go with it.

If you want pictures then have a look at my gallery: http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/garage_vehicle.php?do=view_vehicle&id=897

Just get it away from me. PLEASE! It makes me miserable.

VERY IMPORTANT: I DO NOT WANT TO PART IT OUT OR SELL INDIVIDUAL BITS & PIECES. If I did I would put them in FS: Z-related, so please don't ask.

Oi u sook! Stick it in the garage and forget about it for a few weeks/months. Don't sell it! I know countless members who have been in your situation and sold up only to regret it later... Especially this time of year for some reason! Just a bit of trivia... Most break ups happen in December.... Being the start of Jan, close enough. Dunno if its the weather, the new year, whatever but its a fact!

U'll get over your dummy spit and regret selling! Keep it! Its not costing you anything as its unregistered...

I'll happily donate 50c and I'm sure the rest of the forum will do also, just to buy u a bag of cement. HTFU dude :D

I was gonna sell mine last year round this time due to the similar reasons but had some dick try and steal it. then later it got smashed by my ex and her then current boyfriend. realised it would be harder to sell in its condition and decided after a good few months to rebuild it. my project still goin but its worth it. i would still be crying if i sold my baby. Just give yaself and ta zed some time apart for a few weeks then it all good.

Haha, yes, I'm all lime rather than cement. I should'a torched this thing and bought Sav's (CustomTT's) when I had the chance.

I had planned on dropping $5-$8k on this thing around April to finish it off (even had some thoughts about a forged motor), but today is the last straw. I've done a mental calculation on my circumstances and all things considered - I'd rather have my sanity and a really nice holiday. I'm no mechanic, nor am I an auto-electrician, and when you live as far from anywhere as I do and resources and know how are half a bloody continent away in most every direction... I'm sure you see my point.

This ain't a "I woke up this morning and cracked the shits" decision, I've had serious chats with myself about getting out of the scene for a few months. The 'no start' issue has made up my mind.

Oh yeah, there's also a set of fibreglass skirts, of course not fitted.

And it is going up in the local for sale board, things move pretty fast because of that, in a town full of young lads with money to burn.

Seem to be seeing more of these "get it out of my sight ASAP" deals... It's a shame that many of these cars are now at the point where one thing goes wrong after another. 20-something years of hooning about - lots of stuff is worn & ready to pack it in.
Only deep pockets and devotion will save many of the Z32's still kicking around.

Roady, thought you were the least of all people to give up. Considering your zed history.

Apart from us not having a spare 5k to buy this from you as its a good deal. But why not as suggested park it in the shed, buy a cheap holden v8. Get over it, then bring it closer to town for a tech day to get all your woes fixed. Joked to amanda (my missus) about having it at our place for the tech day. Got the space, but my free time is stretched at the moment. So it would be on the list of to do things.

Be a shame to throw it all away on a little dummy spit.

Think harder about your decision. Collect your thought and sanity then reapply. If you're not motor/electrical savvy. Honestly look at having it stored at a more locals place and get a tech day in on it.

Gotta say tho, these cars are tough! I bought a VR ute bombed out 5L etc, diff gears, shift kit etc. Managed to pretty much kill it in the space of a month...

The Zed takes heaps more punishment!

    Over-engineered? Yes please :D

Roadie, wish u were in WA. Would love to come and take a look at the minor issue ur having... Sure ull figure it out.

    Essentially (if not done already)

    Bypass FPCU
    Series 2 PTU
+ new harness if funds permit and it'll be reliable as!

Its amazing how many zeds I see now which appear to have been untouched engine wise in 20 years! Sure they need a little maintenance now but they've had years of neglect since new as many are scared off by the mechanic.

Stick her in the shed, forget her for a few weeks, months even. Buy a crappy 4 cylinder and when you get the courage up, go tackle the zed again, get it started and take her for a drive. Guarantee once those turbos kick in, the spark will be reignited... :zlove:

There will be no sticking it in the shed and thinking about it. The thinking has been thunk, time and time again. Most of the thinking is about the money poured into the damned thing. The cost of buying the car itself, then $5k spent on engine transfer and freshening up the engine and parts, the list of new bits mentioned above. Countless other thousands wasted on ideas and 'attempts', all to equal the current non-running POS. Selling it with all included parts for $5K is not the mad option, keeping it and dumping maybe twice that to have it to my satisfaction is the madness.

So I'll take my monetary beating like a man and walk away. Come get it.

    Anti 14.7 x 14.7 = 44.1

Lessen the monetary beating, man up and sell me the foglight ducts and cats.

My driveway hosts 9 vehicles. Surely you won't rethink the thunk thoughts and park it at my place so we simple and not so simple Adelaide folk can get it running for you. I mean strategically thinking, you've already spent the coin getting the bits, doing the engine swap, sinking of the moneys and woes. It's all there, but just needs some direction to get it done. And fixed. FOR GOOD.

Honestly, think about it a little and if even remotely interested pm me. I'm sure ill get into a little trouble for considering this idea but i would hate to see one of our local sa members loose there shit over a niggling zed. That most likely poor old souls up your way can't work out for you. As mentioned before though there is a slight backlog of jobs im needing to do first but a tech day of two over a weekend or so will have it back in order. I'm not fussed. Have my mates rally car taking residense ATM too. No biggie.

Offers there. Afterwhich if still no. No more hounding. Unfortunately your loss will inevitably become someones elses gain. Same old story.

surely this has sold?? If you were in brissie I would be very interested, even though I know exactly how you feel.

That offer is THE nicest gesture I've had to date via this forum! But here's what you should do; tell your mates about the amazing deal on offer. Tell them that with 1, maybe 2, weekends worth of work they will have an awesome complete piece of machinery that they can flog off for a tidy profit - or even do that yourself? It's all here basically, just needs to be thrown together by spanner-smiths and tweaked.

No dydy, not yet sold but I doubt it will be long. Because I live in Goanna-turd Roo-shitsville I doubt whether any forum member will want to come get, it will probably sell locally to some young jocks.

Ah well, all you can do is try.

Hopefully it'll move on soon then for you. As you said, either to a local hoolio to roxby, or someone willing to go for a little drive with a car trailer to pick her up.

If i had the available funds i certainly would be interested. This is not the case though. So bargain to be had else where.

Best of luck with it all mate.

We are all concerned citizens express our intrests at a possible crime of selling a really nice zed at a basement price.

So wish I had some spare coin to help Roadeater out.
