Just wondering if anyone has a picture of the rear of all the clusters. The reason i ask is that mine is a TT 97 manual which does not have the boost gauge and I am looking for something to replace it, original with similar km and or 300km Tomei/Mines, from yahoo or the like. I want to ensure i get the right one. Lemme know what you got
Thanks Dave, but how can you tell from the back? I understand some parts are inverted? Would like to be able to tell as when they are advertized it is not usually stated. Just says 90-96
In a series 1 the sockets on the cluster are vertical. In the series 2 like yours, 1 is vertical, 2 are horizontal.

In my 10/97, I changed the 180km/h tacho for a 260km/h one (but had to be from an airbag model Aussie speedo!)
You have what I like to call a series 2 airbag cluster which is larger and arranged different compared to the series 1 none airbag cluster. The differences mean if you are planning to swap the speedos out you will need to make sure you are getting a series 2 speedo unit as the series 1 will no fit and the screw holes are complete different and cant be retrofitted. I thought it was with the 94 model, along with spoiler, seatbelt, electric HICAS, and engine changes.
The clusters changed in late 92 when nissan introduced airbag steering wheels. These newer clusters where mainly found in verts from 92/08 and then in i think 94 airbags became standard and so did the newer clusters.
Yes, with the '97 models not having the boost gauge, a 300km/h speedo with a boost gauge wasn't a good option. So a 260km/h tacho from a S2 Aussie Z was the solution for me! :br:
Whilst pictures of the clusters are extremely helpful, to complete the information, the part number should be included. If it is, it can be verified using Nissan FAST, which will provide the year models they were originally fitted to.
Part Numbers can be included, the problem with instrument clusters is there are almost 30 parts that make up the entire cluster fully assembled. Normally the part number on the back of the cluster is actually for the rear circuit board part number that connects all of the electrical components and globes together. Only bought the 10/97 to do a widebody project. Thanks to Qld's no fun modifications rules, don't really have a use for it now, don't suppose you're after a female version of what you've already got? :rofl:
An easy way to tell is the little plastic tab on the top of s2 clusters have square corners and s1 ones are rounded off
