The late model gearbox that I bought from Nissan has now done approx 5000k

Should I change the oil, a bit like we change the oil after a few 1000k in a new engine?

    Ideas appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Evan.

    I would change it.....

You would imagine there would be a certain amount of wear during "bedding in", especially your synchros.

A few lousy $'s worth of oil is cheap insurance for your "new" gearbox

I changed the oil in the late-model gearbox (from mr tt) that i bought off Jamie. It had done about 10,000km and had a fair number of shavings that I'm attributing to "new box wear". I also popped MT90 into it. Shifts like a dream. :zlove:
