Hey guys and gals, got a hole in my stock exhaust just behind the centre muffler so it’s a good excuse to upgrade. I’m only after a nice deep but loud exhaust. My question is will a catback be enough for the noise or would a full turbo back help me more. I plan on running a Magnaflow X pipe muffler in the middle, 2 “hotdog” resonators and these custom blast pipes I got made.
So in total the standard front half with standard dumps and cats, 1 muffler and 2 resonators BD47D853-9865-439A-9249-3A60A9E4331D.jpeg

The cats are the strongest muffling in the stock system plus if you've already deleted the AIVs and have an aftermarket tune then they're probably halfway blocked. On the other hand stepping up to those big cans at the back is probably going to make the car sound like a tuba at cruising load so maybe keeping the cats is good.

Wasn’t aware the cats are the muffling part, thanks mate, might just end up being easier getting a full system

They're not what engineers would choose as a muffler but since they're so restrictive they have the side effect of quietening the exhaust.

Whilst my car is NA. The cats don't do much for muffling sound. I have eBay x-pipe and cannons, the exhaust was stupid loud. As it is just using the x-pipe and keeping everything else standard, the car is noticeably louder.
