    Hi Folks,

It was great to see a good roll-up of 20-odd cars at yesterdays Tech Day.

As usual, some things got done, whilst others somehow got lost(due to much talking, laughing and general fun).

Many thanks to all who attended AND a special thanks to Mikemd for once again making this venue available(and to Arvin for the idea, and the chicken).

Anyone with misplaced tools or other items PLEASE post on here, as it is easy to lose items when so much work is going on.

    Cheers
    Lloyd & Lynn:zlove::zlove:

So refreshing to get reunited with the zed family! Thanks boys (and ladies) for gracing the event. First time I wasn't able to take photos as I was too busy with the suspension.

I've got a few tools with me. I'll put up a list soon to get everyone updated.

    Arvin

    PS... :worthless:

Could that be the wheel chocks myself and Arvin were using from the suspension swaps?

Yesterday's attendance was just a LITTLE better than the previous Saturday's!! Hands up those who came last Saturday to poor Arvin's first scheduled Tech Day at Castle Hill... hmmm, can't see any! 'Cept mine, of course...
Was much better day, guys, and thanks to all who came. Wasn't heaps of work done, but those who needed stuff done got it done.... huh, Arvin and Marcus??
Still we had a good day, and I want to personally thank Arvin (and his wife??) for providing the chicken for all. It WAS supposed to have been paid for by donation, and to those who did help pay towards the cost a big Thank You! However, much of the 'chicken money' was contributed by the sale of drinks, and even those were a little 'light on' this time. Don't want to spoil a great day, but the food and drinks are provided for your convenience by organisers' and not intended to be at their expense (which is why we always asked for a buck for our sausage sizzles). Food costs money! Chicken is not provided by God, nor are sausages, bread, butter (??), power and utensils. As done in the past, the good seem to contribute for themselves plus one or two others. None of us minds if you're flat broke (we all know Zed's do cost to own and run!), but some guys seem to forget just how many times they dip their hands in the ice (or chicken) bucket without a commensurate coin dropped in the Honesty Bucket.
Sorry to bring it up, guys, but I've worn it in the past... I don't think a nice guy like Arvin should end up even $1 out of pocket...

As for left-overs... there were some drinks (which I paid for so also took home); ditto bread, butter, tea, plastic tubs (@ $20), plastic knives and spoons, brand new kettle, and paper towel rolls. All three large packets of ice melted....
I have a screwdriver (nice one too!), and a stock car jack left behind. Anyone missing same can collect at the next Tech Day which, I promise, won't be too long away 'cause my shockies still could not, nor did, get done... bummer!!
Thanks again from all to PENNYARVS for organising yet another event...

I was unaware that I had consumed a "stolen" chicken wing(and I am truly repentant)it came into my possession via my accomplice.:eek: She is also repentant.
Being a Sunday, I would not have been surprised to find that God had provided for the masses, but what would I know(I was too involved in helping Attilla overhaul his Clutch M/Cyl)?
As has been stated elsewhere by others, I believe that 4 days notice for the previous Tech Day was just a trifle short and may have had some impact on the poor attendance, as many people often plan further ahead than that(and may be unable to change their plans).
These recriminations may have a similar impact on future attempts, I sincerely hope otherwise(but I'm no Oracle).

Okay, a quick update on the case of the lost tools! I think I got the following:

    pair of chocks
    -- attila's
black kit of socket tools -- marcus'
    car stands -- adam's

That's all I can remember at the top of my head. Will try and have a look further and see if I still got some more in the car.

Thanks for the photos, guys... :)

For your confession, my son, you are forgiven... your penance was covered by your helping out a fellow attendee. The repentance of your claimed "accomplice" is noted and her usual assistance at helping prepare food for the masses remembered. Her penance also was achieved by kissing the cheek of one of the poor sad organisers.
Pennyarvs has confessed his notification/timing skills do need a little working on... however, these are not sins of a consequence and can really only be considered errors of youthful enthusiasm. No penance is required.
The "recriminations" stand. This gathering operates on the basis of helping others, not providing for others. There is no reason an organiser should be 'out of pocket' when the plate is provided (albeit not actually passed around) is an easily-visible and accessible area of the 'church'. Should this sermon, aimed at spreading the workload, be taken in any other way and incur a negative "impact on future attempts" then so-be-it! Lesson is finished for today. Go in peace and spread the good word.... Zeds are good.
