Tried to pass off used coil packs as new ones. I bought them from his eBay store, they arrived in genuine boxes and were bagged and taped up to look brand new, but were just used items with a fresh coat of paint.

I eventually got refunded, but I doubt I'll buy anything from Carcraze again.

That is very unusual and a rarity (if correct) but I have to ask... Did you have any other test to state they weren't new apart from an apparent coat of paint ?

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys. As the owner of Carcraze I can tell you that all of our parts that are identified as genuine, are genuine OEM Nissan. On the rare occasion I sell second hand products they are clearly labelled as such. Anyone can call me if they have any questions or issues (contact details on website). If any product either Nissan otherwise were to fail in the first six months due to manufacturing fault I will refund or replace.

The clear windows were yellowed and scratch marks evident under the paint (should be raw black plastic for genuine items) They had obviously been used then given a scrub and a coat of paint. I've seen what a new coil pack looks like, and these were pretty far from the mark.

Maybe it was his supplier who stooged him, I don't know, but he didn't seem all that shocked when I said they were refurbed items and asked for a refund. The eBay listing said "BRAND NEW" in all caps, so it's not like I bought refurbished coil packs by mistake.

It's been resolved and I got my money back, but that's been my experience with that particular retailer. I'm not claiming everything they sell is dodgy, but the stuff I bought from them definitely wasn't what it was made out to be.

For what its worth, ive just pulled a genuine nissan coil off the shelf at work. This is a skyline one, not a zed one, but similar design. The plastic has small scratches on it and the resin its filled with is an opaque yellow colour, similar to vaseline. This is NORMAL for brand new coils. Id say you just didnt realise they are all like that.

OP, I would 100% vouch for Marcus being a great supplier.

The funny thing is... they're not. OEM coils aren't painted with rattlecan black paint, and you wouldn't expect a brand new part to show signs of wear. I've bought plenty of OEM Nissan parts, and they've all come out of the box looking pristine. I'm not telling lies mate: these parts were definitely not new.

So you raised a concern, it was addressed by the vendor and it was made good in the end?
I think you've already identified that the answer is 'yes' to all three.

Let it go, bro. Your point has been made. We listened the first time.

Every business understands that they are never going to achieve 100% of customer satisfaction. My policy is to bring about a resolution as quickly as possible so that I can get on with doing business with 99% that are happy. I don't have time to argue with customers and it really serves no purpose to do so. Instamatic was not happy, even with a no questions asked refund......I guess that's his prerogative. I think I can assume from the many returning customers over the last five years that the vast majority are continuing to be happy with the products they buy and the service they get.

Just saw a note on their website no orders processed till 11th July and I paid express. That's not very express is it.
Damn I could have got my parts quicker from USA via snail mail.
    Not happy Jan.
