Hi Zedders, I'm in the middle of a plenum pull. Just preparing the Zed for summer, a bit of repainting and a day was spent repolishing my plenum! I had my injectors cleaned last week and the service man suggested spraying carby cleaner down the injector ports prior to reinstalling the injector rail. He said that I would need to reassemble the engine and have it started up within 5 hours of spraying the carby cleaner to achieve maximum cleaning. Has anyone tried this before?? If you're in Brisbane I definitely recommend the Mobile Injector Service that Zed4Life uses. On the South side this is Dwight (0418884678) and on the North side Jamie (0412007207). If you mention that you are in the 300ZX club then they do a trade price of $25 per injector for pre and post flow and spray pattern testing, ultrasonic cleaning and solonoid testing. Hope to see you all on the road again soon. CheerZ Mike
Do either of these guys do injectors by mail order? Like, if I sent a complete fuel rail to them, would they press out the injectors, clean them, fit new o-rings and reinstall in the rail? Or am I hoping for too much>
I'm sure they would I handed over my assembled fuel rail. All injectors were removed, tested and then fitted and reseated. And you get a printed report on your spray patterns, flow results and solenoid resistance before and after.
Yep, they sure do... Dwight is used to getting the whole fuel rail with injectors still fitted... In fact he likes to get them complete so he can be sure the seals, pintles etc have gone back in correctly as he does it all himself. Just send him the whole thing intact... Also sells cheap injector connectors @ $7.70ea...
Any suggestion as to the carby cleaning option? Has anyone sprayed carby cleaner down their injector ports?
