Have a look at everyone's 60ft on risks 1/4mile list fran is like superman, the only guys with quicker 60ft are running slicks/semi slicks. So dont expect 1.7-1.8 unless you get really good tires or launch your car prefect.
To be specific ... When you were lining up at the start, you had to ensure the car was staged between 3 beams - 1 to tell you were pre-staged; next one tells you that you are staged; the third one means you have gone too far. The reaction time counts the time you to launch the car and break that 3rd beam, which would have been a couple of inches ahead of your front wheel. The wheel breaking that beam is the trigger thats starts timing your quarter mile run. So if the lights go green and you sit there scratching your bum for 6 seconds and then launch, you would still have a 13 second time, with a 6 second r/t. Meanwhile, if a stock Toyota Corolla had been next to you and got a good 0.5 second r/t and run an 18 second time, it would have got to the finish first and won with a 5 second slower time. Remember that the racing done at these street events is run by run stuff only, not elimination drag racing.
