what is your fuel consumption like? you should get around 450 km to a tank or more. less than 400 km and you have an overfuelling problem which can be caused by dead O2 sensors or dead coolant temp sensor.
If your smelling petrol it means you have a leak under the bonnet. Check the clamps on the fuel lines as there are at least in the bay alone. The usual culprit is the fuel pressure regulator which is on the passenger side rear of the fuel rail. The leaks either are form the unit itself or the hoses going to it. Whoever the mechanic is you are using does not sound very Z32 savy to me.
i live near geelong and know that dalton automotive are useless wen it comes to zed's, first hand experience! i also had fuel smell from mine, wa sjust loose clamps ander the bonnet
try plugs with a smaller gap, or gap them close if they are standard plugs and not platinum/iridium, see if that stops it breaking down under load
I used to be able to smell fuel though the vents but it stop after i did this: http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnettech/fuelleaks/fuelleaks.html i also cleaned the coolant temp sensor at the same time. Can you see where abouts the smoke/steam is coming from?
Hi toasted The steam and smoke was comming from the other motor when i first bought the car, thats why i put another motor in it.thanks all will check all the things you have said it could be and will keep you posted. Cheers Belly
