My brakes have always been just good enough, so today I vacuumed down my booster and I wont hold 20hg for more than a few seconds, its screwed. I've had bmc rebuilt and its good. I contacted power brakes in Adelaide earlier today, they can do the rebuild but Paul the owner said they have so much work on, that I would be at least 3 weeks before they could do anything, so at least a month, if I was Luckly. So I'm going start looking round local, if someone could recommend a shop, that would be great.
What did they quote for the rebuild? Getting reco'd items from Centric etc is near on impossible these days (and won't be getting any easier with First Brands going bankrupt). I keep the GTR booster/master cylinder/adapters ktis but they're expensive.
They said $680....... the price of a new booster from negun is $1560 plus shipping, and at least a 4 week wait.
$680 seems reasonable all things considered. I'm not even sure you'd be able to get the new booster unless they have been un-discontinued (which is not unheard of). Makes the GTR conversion kit look like a good deal at $1450
