Best way to hook up clutch booster without the tanks etc.

Right, so the conversion is complete. Everything drives 'very' smoothly. Too smooth really, quiet surprised. New clutch grabs like a death grip. Awesome :D

Anyways, what I need to know is the easiest way to hook up the clutch booster vacuum lines. Noting that the engine is an na, and was auto. So no spare port on the balance tube.

Can i do it as simply as put a tee piece on the brake booster vacuum line, with a one way valve, then onto the clutch booster?

What would be the negative affects in doing so? Furthermore, without all the expansion tanks and crap, does it affect the system?

Main reason for wanting to connect it is for amandas sake. It's a heavy pedal, and long term driving she won't handle it very well. Even I think it's really firm. But i can manage it.

    Cheers
    Chris.

What's the difference between a manual and auto balance pipe? I've got a manual balance pipe but will probably need to block off a bunch of stuff so maybe I can get by with an auto one?

Tap it in to any vacuum line and it will be fine. It hardly draws any thing. You will need the reservior tank, as when you are powering up through the gears with the right foot flat to the floor, you dont want the fourth gear change to have a heavy clutch....
The other option is to HTFU, heavy clutches are good! They are like doing squats. Go for a 20minute drive in traffic and you have earned a donut and coffe. Hmmm, sounds like a perfect reason for a drive :)

Hi Peter, the difference between the manual and auto balance tubes should be bugger all. Biggest difference is between non turbo and turbo model balance tubes. As na's don't use boosters. Only turbo models do. So it's not going to make much difference using yours. As the extra port is non existant.

Dave. To what ratio is the concrete to saliva? But for what it's worth I've got it sussed. Got a brass elbow that connects to the passengers side of the plenum. I think it's where the boost gauge usually plumbs up to. Got a check valve and some 11/32 hose.

Amanda will be one happy chappette.

Excellent donuts from the bakery down the hill from here, if you drive over to deliver my clutch line with your non-assisted clutch you will have earned it so I'll buy you one.

Haha, yes. On a side note i shall be getting that sorted as soon as im back at work (monday).

I dont mind italian donuts either.... the choices, the choices.

I managed to get the booster working with a one way valve and a lengthy piece of hose. The guy at the brake shop with the valve said that the length of hose im using will be plenty to over come the constant draw from the booster. As he estimated about 6-7 inches in length for suction to which how i have it connected is ample.

But far out, went from nice and firm to light as a feather. Very soft now...

Hey weren't you going to drop that clutch line over for me to have a look at?
    Donuts?

Yeah I worked out how much it was going to cost to get the required fittings from summit to shorten and make a second. Cost was comparable to what I can have made up completely from enzed. I discussed this with peter. Plus it'll at least be complete and warranted. So less likely to have potential issues with a modified one.

    Fair point.
    Good option for others too.

From enzed? I'm after a one piece clutch line, in no hurry for it though.

Could you pm me the details please?

    Cheers!

    Anti 14.7 x 14.7 = 44.1

My revs bounce when I clutch it... I removed the secondary vacuum tank and folded the hose. Any ideas?
