I have trawled around on the forum and on the internet, but I cannot find any information on when the Auspec Z32 was first released in Australia and on what changes were made each year subsequently. Can anyone help here?
    thanks

Dave's links contain information applicable to the US Spec Z32's.
As a consequence, some of the variations may not have been introduced on the Australian Z32's.
If you really want to identify the different characteristics of the Australian models, the best source of information would probably be the genuine Nissan Australia sales brochures.
If you were to post your VIN, someone with FAST may be able to decode it for you.

The car was first release in Australia in November/December 1989 I believe. The Australian brochures may not be of much help in exact details...I have some and they are pretty general in terms of details. In fact some of the photos used are of USDM models and modified with AU/Euro parts in photo processing. It is likely best to simply use FAST to find differences in part numbers and cross reference them with production dates.

I believe most of the AU model changes followed either mainland Euro changes or USDM, thus mid models changes began in 1994.

1995 saw the anniversary model from Stillen and sales ceased in early 1997 (with 96 models). I don't believe Australia got 97 models designated for their market.

The Australian VIN is not going to tell you much either. It will tell you, either you have an Australian or Euro spec Z.
