Sorry to hear, hope that you can clear this issue up shortly. Ok, now can all those that say "I dont want to put my baby on the dyno coz i'm afriad that it might blow something" please stfu As I have always said, it is safer to do a dyno run than it is to take the car for a run on an "abandoned street", as the operators have data logging, and will pull back if an issue is identified. And then you will know that you have a problem, as opposed to driving around pinging and being none the wiser.
My result was terrible. Really think I have transmission issues. Hope it doesn't end up costing me my first born
I tuned clara's ebc on the dyno on friday when she was running her 20" lexani's... She pulled a 283rwhp.... Now today with her old 17's she pulled a 300rwhp! Big difference for a set of rims... although they were bloody heavy! Sorry to hear that Alice's car was still having problems with the big ends! Engine out time ey Clara??? Thanks Ross, only too happy to help out mate... that's what i'm here for! Agreed Marco... Definately do it on a dyno... 99.9% of car's don't have the ability to check the AFR's thru a wbo2 sensor(s). Great result Ryan, definately some good numbers on stock hairdryers. :zlove: Post up your dyno sheet Vaughan with the AFR's, and get rid of those boost jets! Did your car throw any error codes?
Thats a respectable power figure Ryan compared to the shop one a few weeks back. A nice healthy TT engine in the 94 Gotta try Martini race fuel now my car pulled close to 280 with it on race tune versus the 259 on 98 octane pump fuel. When are you western cousins gonna have some balls and run some giggle gas on those TT's cheapest dollar per hp gain around and very safe if setup correctly on the dyno. Awesome results all round well done.
I haven't checked for error codes yet. I'll do that tomorrow. Here's the AFR and boost. Boost was steady and not terribly high. No pinging etc. Help
yeah for sure! i had never even thought of it working like that. we had thought it was running ok, but it wasnt the whole time... lucky the dyno day happened when it did (and lucky dan decided at the last moment to throw it on too) coz we have been clocking up the k's in it since the motor went in and it wouldve been depressing if this motor had blown a seal as well! going to take it a bit easier now and get the fuel issue sorted asap
nothing wrong with boost jets..... my car runs them and i gained 25rkwk over last time..... pretty good if you ask me.... i need some parts of you though tom,ill pm you later...
Went up for a look early on but a lot of you guys were still in bed will wait for next dyno day This was my last dyno before engine rebuild
thanks for organising that Ross. i will do some work on my Z to get some better result on next run. have to start saving money first
i would happily run nos.....BUT over here in wa its not legal, its basicly an instant yellow sticker(defect notice for you guys) and a big fine,...plus your car will be impounded most likely...... its even illegle to have the nitrous system set up but not engageg,so even just the piping and nozzles and stuff will get you busted..... its roughly equal to being caught running without catalytic convertors so thats why us wa people stay well clear...not worth the thousands in fines (literally) for the risk..... but i say agian, they make it legal monday, its in my car tuesday or as soon as i can afford it anyway....lol When are you western cousins gonna have some balls and run some giggle gas on those TT's cheapest dollar per hp gain around and very safe if setup correctly on the dyno. Awesome results all round well done.[/QUOTE]
Very happy with the day and will have photos up soon (didn't take many tho). 134.8rwkw is not bad for an engine that is running incredibly rich (forgot to get a print out of the AFR ). Shame Josh didn't come and run his 'powerful' NA zed Gained 8.2rwkw compared to last dyno day (126.6rwkw) which cam from 5 degrees extra timing, headers and an auto-manual conversion. Before the next dyno day I will sort out the knock sensor and 1 of the o2 sensors (which is broken after only a year ) and get a proper tune on my AFC. That should see me in into the 140rwkw bracket Cheers Rob
it looked like a great day and turnout, it was good to see, well done for organising it.. kinda made me homesick.. but the mighty 1000 took me home ok...
good day, very interesting i got 188.9rwkw on stock turbos and stock boost, relatively happy with the result, wait till 12 months, but aesthetics must come first at the moment, my car is looking decidedly tacky, good to meet some new guys and also to catch up with the regular faces, well worth the trip up and would happily do it again cheers, excellent day and organisation ross
Thanks again Tom, my car is now even doin little chirps when it changes gears!! It's like i have more than double the power of how it used to run before you gave it some TLC!! Can't wait to see how she goes after you fine tune it, although i've already started planning for the new turbos I'll never hear the end of it after Dave gets his running properly! At least she broke the 300rwhp mark. Oh and can't wait to see how it goes wednesday at the drags, just hope the weather holds up. As for the 180 I think we'll leave it until Alice runs it into the ground (like last time) then pull out the engine and maybe do some upgrades to it. Also thanks Ross for organising it all and for proving that autos are faster , how were those P platers in the busted up commodore did they rev their engine when they got near you too? As if i'd waste petrol on that
Was a good day. Was very impressed with some of the numbers that stock turbo Z's are putting out. I still say Ryan (blue32zx) should have upped the boost, similarly with Simmo (WazTTed) (who should let me tune his boost controller I think....) to see what they could do. Congrats to Eddie for taking out the highest TT with some very nice numbers. Wish I could have run but slipping clutch makes that fairly pointless I think. Next time ... :zlove:
I was somewhat happy with my meager 164.8rwkw given that my beast is auto and runs only stock boost and turbos. Ken told me that my fuel pressure regulator is on the way out (doesn't surprise me considering I haven't been using an FPCU for some time) and I otherwise would've got better figures. Glad to be a part of the day and much thanks to Ross for organising it again.
I was told running 20" wheels makes no difference on the dyno. But some say it does, and was wondering could the power increase on claras car be due to something else besides wheels? Or was it diffenatly the Rims... Just curious, asi pulled 262rwkw on my 20's
yeah the p platers wanted to race me too..... i just looked at my them and shoke my head.....they booted it and drove of.... car is looking, sounding and going smick as clara, well done.....
