The box the filter comes in is larger than it needs to be. It wouldn't fit in a 3kg satchel.

The brackets to mount the filter are not essential. It is common to run a pod filter on the MAF without any additional support.

An example of a fake Apexi air filter can be seen here:

This is what I'm trying to avoid with any online sellers, particularly as I'm responsible for other member's satisfaction in this GB. Note the poor quality printing on top and dodgy fitting of brass studs in the plastic: :(

i dont want to sound silly...

go into your local autobarn and ask them to do a group buy and if they can match what has already been offered by the online seller take it.. try keep the money in the country unless its cheaper to go elsewhere.

The Chinese probably own autobarn anyway, and Apexi

15% off eBay at the moment, I'm almost tempted to get a couple and confirm if they are or aren't genuine. If only they allowed pickup.

    OK, this hasn't worked...... :/

Done - Autobarn, Supercheap and Repco don't have them in their catalogue. Closest I could get was K&N filters. Or Apexi stickers at Supercheap....

Anyone interested in getting a genuine Apexi Air Filter for the 300ZX in the future - either get one with your next CZP order, or I'd continue to recommend Japex Trading Ltd - you can also order from their eBay store. Mine arrived today from Japan, 6 days after ordering, very happy with it, genuine product. In summary, disappointed to say that this GB can be summed up by this meme:
