Between the two of you you'd have maybe 1% of the kms that the version 1s did with no issues lol

    If 1%= 0, 100% is still zero Rob :p

Anyway, have we established that this 'design' is no good for the z32?

    UAS Pivoting Arms Answers

To answer some of the questions that have been raised.

We have sold over 100 pairs of V2 of these arms, both in Australia and overseas over the last three years. There have been zero problems.

They suit Z32 and R32. We have sold more for R32's. Keeping in mind that the r32's have more load being all wheel drive.

Also we have three starting lengths race cars, road/track cars and road. Each have at least 20 mm adjustment. also note they can be adjusted on the car whilst insitu.

So of the 100, how many are road going z32's? How many kms?

I don't believe anyone said that they would but probably that they "should" but until we're further ahead with development we would never say that they would, guaranteed as we're not all the familiar with Z32's.

and they are. That is one product that we can blow our own trumpet about, they work amazingly!

Not to mention over 2,000 clutch fans sold now and the reviews keep flowing in (no pun intended)

You're absolutely correct, we don't know Z32's all that well and we certainly don't claim to however if there is a possibility of crossing between then we'll investigate in due course.

Will our front knuckles fit a Z32? The website says no as it has not been confirmed if it will work: http://www.gktech.com/index.php/r-c...-knuckles-pre-buy-price-eta-late-january.html

That said, some customers have informed us of their intention to get them to work on Z32's.

It looks like we'll be putting these upper arms into production at some stage with our primary focus being Skylines but we're all ears and we're open to new markets now that we're finally keeping on top of demand.

We have a full time automotive engineer so from a development perspective, the sky is the limit.

You would actually be surprised the amount of "number crunching" involved. We have a complete R32 front end modelled and a considerable amount of FEA was conducted.

I would be over the moon with a set of drop knuckles for my Zed, but the R32 and Z32 front hubs reportedly have differing levels of caster trail. 15mm difference. I guess you could adjust your caster rods to make up the difference but I would worry about the impact of the repositioning of the steering and LCA ball joints. The FUCA would also need to be able to pivot or it'll get some good mangling force through it. If there was some testing/necessary modification and you put up knuckles for sale to suit the Z32 I'd be chuffed!

I know these things aren't as simple for you as "just click and drag on CAD and make a different design" but I wish they were :(

Realistically speaking to recoup your investment you'd need to target the USDM Z32 market. Hell of a lot larger there (no R-chassis to steal the thunder). It'd have to be a cost effective item to reach them.
Tim designs for Ford, so I think he actually wouldn't be surprised at all :p

It is not possible to change the way the knuckle extension (J-arm) rotates throughout heave without changing chassis mounting points or minimise it by designing a new knuckle extension. The two-part upper arm is indeed a patch-up, but Group A cars also used it and they dominated the series when the R32 GTR was competing so it seems to be about the best of a "patch up". Nevermind though, these won't fit a Z32.

P.S the btcc primera also won championships with the exact same concept as ours, this is race proven tech.

They would with a differnet set of spacers made to suit the outer ends, not hard, easy to see if you are a thinker.

The caster arm mounts simply need a new set of holes closer to the chassis rail but allowing enough room for the rod end and the arm to move without contacting anything. This will reduce caster change during suspension travel of lowered cars with some small compromises in other areas.
Obviously the new holes would require the same reinforcing as per the original factory holes - easy for anyone with any engineering skills.

Once we've tested on Skylines we'll measure up a Z32 arm. Currently around 40% of our sales are to international customers and the Z32 market is large in the US so it is something that we will be looking in to, just that we've already modelled an R32 arm so we'll concentrate on that first but watch this space.

Just got back from holidays, hence late reply. We have sold at least 25 of the longest (road car) versions, which have been on cars now a few years now.
Yes we could do a group buy.
