Alarm issues (also looking for recommendations)

So I got the car back from the mechanic on Wed and it drove and ran fine.

Went to start it yesterday morning and it wouldn't. I noticed that the alarm wasn't working (no doors unlocking, no flashing lights etc, alarm flashing light is off.)

All electrics work. Except for when you turn the key to the 'ON' position, then nothing. None of the engine lights come on. Vehicle battery is good and alarm remote has a new battery.

    Two things have happened electrically:
    1. Car has been changed to manual and rewired accordingly
    2. New battery has been installed.
The car drove fine after both of these tho.

I'm assuming that the following isn't happening:
    1. Some of the switches/sensors in the car are broken so the alarm isn't turning itself off
    2. The immobiliser isn't disengaging and the old Mongoose M60 is shagged. But I'm wondering if there are any other electrical issues that could be causing this?

So far my next steps are:
    1. Check fuses
    2. Access alarm main box and see if I can get it to turn off.
    3. Invest in new alarm/replacement. (Need recommendations of brands)

Anything else I should be doing?

Thanks, I managed to get some help and bypassed the immobiliser - got it driving straight away.
