Hey guys, calling on your masses of experience on a question about my aircon. I may be jumping the gun, but wanted to check it before summer.

Compressor cuts in fine, liquid runs in sightglass, with bubbles every now and then. Its a yellow colour liquid, can't tell how cold the vents are yet because its still cold as hell in victoria.

Now my major question is.... If i see liquid in the glass when running, does that necessarily mean i have gas and all is ok?

    Cheers

You have a switch built into the system, that will cut the compressor if you are too low on gas, so if the compressor engages and stays on then you have enough gas to run the a/con. The only real way to tell if you have enough refrigerant in the system is to pop along to an a/con shop and get the gauges put on it.

I can hear the click, hear the revs drop and physically see the rpm drop on the needle, im guessing it kicked in. Plus then i can see the fluid flowing in the glass. Cheers thanx Greg, i may have to get it looked at. Its an old r12 system though.....so fingers crossed.
