does anyone else have the problem of constantly having dust and silty crap coming into their zed through the air con grills??? i have owned 3 zeds and every one has the same issue. just running the car even without the air con, no matter how often i dust and polish their is always a light film of blackish dust that appears on things after a couple of days. Im assuming that its all just from the air intake as the car runs nice and low so it sucks up all the crap as you drive but im not sure. has anyone a) had this problem and b) devised a way to filter the air con vents if i added up all the time i spent cleaning.... :zlove:
You'll find that the inside of the air con ducts are absolutely filthy. Clean all that out and it will help a lot The air con evaporator is always especially bad
This ^, and also the dark grey foam on the ducting will have perished; it crumbles into a grainy dust. I replaced all the foam pieces (on ducting, in heater box etc) when I had the dash out for the hearer core replacement. You can buy it in rolls with a double sided tape backing.
Have a search for heater core replacement. It's a massive, horrible job. I just finished it in my zed, was putting air con back in and changing the heater core. It's a solid day if you know what you are doing.
