The secret to the zeds grunt is in the VTC. This intricate mechanism fattens up the torque curve of a zed immensely, providing that much desired midrange.

The smarties amongst us can manipulate the release point of the VTC to gain the most out of our tweaked zeds, but not many understand how it works..... even less have the ability to test whether it's functioning correctly or not. That's where the VTC tester comes in. In a similar vein to the other testers from this supplier, this latest tester is a 'plug and play' item. Straight out of the box this tester assesses power, ECU signal, on/off control, wiring continuity, fusible link/fuse condition, ignition switch function and a raft of sensor functions without interrupting normal VTC operation

No dyno needed for VTC testing. I laid the tester along the windscreen cowl and closed the bonnet before 'road testing' the zed.........awesome, I verified full operational function of my VTC without having my wallet strapped to a dyno

It was great to know that my VTC was functioning correctly, but I found it more enlightening to actually see how often the VTC is engaged, and under what conditions

Now, as is usual with this supplier, the test lamp units are fully sealed, with Green LED's guaranteeing high visibility and the product is very keenly priced at $26 (the price of the connectors alone) BUT if we can come up with a minimum order of 10 units we've been guaranteed a GB price of $22.75ea

GB participants who may need a replacement oem harness connector (or two) for their VTC's can add them to their order @ $11.05ea

Australia Post Postpak is the usual $8.25, but if any of you want to double up, we can bundle a number of testers to the one postal address. Let me know when you order.

Put your hand up if you want to get in on this GB, or PM me if you have any questions

Could we opt for one plug-end of the tester being not fitted ?
...Just thinking whether i could possibly extend the wire somehow and mount this and the other testers in the zeds cabin/interior ?
    Would it be viable ?

    Viable, yes....practical, no

Unless you're trying to do a Knight Rider impersonation, what would be the point

These testers are fault finding/routine maintenance tools, so keep them in your toolbox for that purpose..... there must be hundreds of led contraptions you could put inside the zed cabin to drive you up the wall
