While browsing through a peer to peer client (eg. Kazaa) searching "300ZX" i came across a large media file called "300ZX-The Joy of ZX 1998" so i thought i'd download it and take a look. I don't know if anyones seen it, but i searched the forums and didn't come up with anything. Anyway it started off as some Americans in 300ZX's cruising the hills and crap, until one of them rolls it when it hits some ugly little mazda thing. The ZX is completely crushed and the front left end is completely destroyed with the front wheel lodged into the door. The entire car was flat didn't even look like it had a roof anymore. The driver was treated for severe head trauma. Has anyone had any accidents in their Z's before cause after seeing the accident i'm starting to question just how safe the Z's are, considering how undamaged the other car was compared to the Z, although this is all depends on how fast the car was going and the collision; but if you see the clip you notice that they aren't speeding or anything to dangerous. (Other than the accident which is about 30 mins in, the rest of the video is somewhat boring with horrid music and Z's cruising around cones and race tracks the entire time)
Have a look at my profile for evidence of how strong Zeds are in side impact accidents. We had a Rodeo 4 wheel drive fly through a stop sign and nail us in the left hand door at speed. The door and rear 1/4 got demolished, but the chassis was still dead straight. I must admit though that the aftermarket (Aus compliancing) anti intrusion bars worked very well, and I wouldn't drive a Zed without them fitted. You can see the outline of them in the damaged door. When any car rolls, damage can be quite severe if any of the A, B or C pillars collapses. Because of the targa roof design, the Zed wouldn't fare too well on its roof.
Can this file be downloaded from the www somewhere? What I mean, is anywhere besides some file sharing program?
