I stumbled across these awesome Drain plugs during my enquiries for the magnetic sump plug GB, and immediately threw them on my 'wish list' for the zed.

These were also 'custom manufactured' for the 300ZX (because the Universal stuff doesn't fit) and are a direct replacement for the oem drain plugs on the zed. These 'custom design jobs' have a 14mm 'bolt style hex head' so they can be easily removed/replaced with a spanner. A vast improvement over those sodding 'square shank indent' oem plugs  How many metres of skin has been left on gearbox/diff housings on account of those 'demonic' fittings ?

Massive 'over design' has been incorporated into the magnets on these drain plugs to compensate for the lack of routine maintenance usually afforded gearboxes and differentials by most owners. When was the last time you changed your gearbox and/or diff oil ? (Perfect opportunity, while you're fitting your new GB Magnetic drain plug :) )

I received a sample for evaluation, and was astounded at the size and power of these magnets. I reckon they'd go close to pulling the fillings out of your teeth

Another 'quality in design' feature is the 200+degC rated magnet used on these drain plugs. As no form of cooling is present on the gearboxes and differentials in our zeds, they opted to use a magnet that had a temperature rating 'up the Wazoo' to ensure the drain plugs would be up to the job for the life of the zed

Normally, the monster Magnetic gearbox and differential Drain plugs are $35ea, but in order to negotiate the best possible pricing, the supplier and myself have created two kits exclusively for this GB. The kits include matching 'custom made' Filler plugs (normally $14.95ea), and PTFE thread tape (normally $1.65)

    a) The MANUAL kit, which includes monster Magnetic Drain plugs for both the gearbox and differential of the 300zx, plus a matching pair of 'custom made' Filler plugs and a roll of PTFE thread tape.
    $75.90 ( over 25% discount)

    b) The AUTO kit, includes one monster Magnetic Drain plug for the differential of the 300zx, plus a matching 'custom made' Filler plug and a roll of PTFE thread tape.
    $43.20 (over 16% discount)

The use of PTFE thread tape on all gearbox/differential plugs is highly recommended, and the tape supplied in these kits is a custom width, tailor made to suit these plugs.

These kits will fit both NA & TT zeds, and a minimum buy order of 20 units will be required to secure these prices. Stock is readily available and postage will be $6.95 (within Australia)

The GB will run for a month or two (or until we get the numbers, which shouldn't be too hard), so if you want a brilliant gearbox/differential plug set that will last the life of your zed (and let you keep the skin on your knuckles) put your hand up to get 'in' on this GB or PM me if you have any questions.

These magnetic drain plugs are amazing......

I was fooling around with the magnetic drain plug this morning...... the usual stuff, picking up screwdrivers and spanners etc..... I began to walk around the garage, casually plucking items off the bench and out of drawers with the magnetic drain plug.

Anyway, I decided to 'up the ante' and proceeded to pick up a claw hammer, then a 14" shifter :)

By this stage it appeared the magnetic drain plug was 'taunting me' with its prowess, so I clapped the thing on top of a 7lb steel weight I use as a door stop....... and lifted the sucker straight off the floor

I was suitably impressed , anything 'plucked' out of the oil by this thing is not going anywhere :D

    Hellooooooo ........

Please read the GB. It's highly unlikely there'll be any logical question NOT answered in the opening post

    I couldn't agree more......

You can see the thought that has been put into the design of these 'puppies'.... the 14mm hexagonal head, means you can now remove/refit all the gearbox/differential plugs with the same ring spanner you use on the sump plug  (worth buying for this feature alone :))

The use of a high temperature magnet..... means no matter how hard you flog your zed, the oil temp in your gearbox/diff will not diminish the magnetic efficiency of these monster drain plugs.

The massive size of the magnet used on these drain plugs means more magnetic 'pulling power' as well as more contact area for particles to adhere.

The combination of all these features meant they were a MUST to be on my 'zed wish list'. The substantial discounts I was able to negotiate for this Group Buy make these an absolute 'no brainer' :D

C'mon now no need to be an ass about it. The inclusion of thread tape left some doubt in my mind (considering the oem ones don't use any sealant) so figured it's better to be safe rather than sorry. I like to know exactly what I'm getting, rather than blindly throwing money at it and hoping it's what I want.

    Just stating a fact.....

A LOT of time was spent on the 'wording' in the opening post to try and ensure all the relevant information was provided to members.

The thread tape is included to minimise overtightening of the plugs and ease in their removal (I always used tape on the oem plugs for the same reasons:))

    Breakdown of prices.....

I've been asked to provide a breakdown of individual prices in the GB kits (I don't really understand why , but here they are) Normal price, then Manual/Auto kit price in brackets.

Magnetic gearbox/differential Drain plugs are $35ea (M$26.25/A$28.95), the matching 'custom made' Filler plugs $14.95ea (M$11.15/A$13.15), PTFE thread tape $1.65 ($1.10) and optional magnetic sump plug $21.00 ($19.50)

Whichever way you look at the prices, this GB is providing BIG savings to forum members on a quality zed product
