    Hey guys,
After posting a picture on the Aus300 facebook page and getting quite a good response, I have decided to scope out a group buy on some 2k headlight inserts from Ionic Dynamics.

They are available in both fibreglass, and fully finished carbon fibre (clear coated).

    Pricing is as follows:
    Fibreglass: $200 USD + Postage
    CF: $300 USD + Postage

Along with international postage, there will be some smaller fees such as international money transfer, and domestic postage (if you require it), therefore, an exact dollar amount will not be available until the order is ready to be placed.

At least 6 sets are required for these prices to go through, and obviously, the more people we have, the less postage will be as it is split evenly.
The items will be shipped to me in Baulkham Hills, NSW and are able to be picked up, or posted domestically.

IonicDynamics has asked for this to be finalised by the end of October, therefore, anyone who is interested will need to be confirmed by Sunday October 26th.

    Thanks guys :)

Dont want to ruin this thread however I am all for getting all of us and yourself maybe a better deal. I know where we can these for 75 pounds/$140 Australian. I am sure a group by might shave some $$$ off that number even. If you want carbon fibre there is a dipping method you can get done here that does not cost much which will emulate it well.

This guy got them from this seller i think

Ok first of all the right thing to do would have been to PM the bloke organising the group buy.

The inserts that MIKEZX fit are Japan, not that eBay link.

With any aftermarket kit quality plays a huge part. More expensive doesn't always mean better but it's usually a good indication of the quality of materials used and how much the manufacturer values their time. Having just bought from Ionic Dynamics I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them based on the quality of their goods, speed efficiency and care taken with their freight, and being a professional and helpful retailer. There is a lot of good feedback on their products in the wider Z community too.

Also you can put a hydro finish on fibreglass but it'll always be a painted finish. It's not the real thing and doesn't fool anyone up close. It's not cheap either if you want it done well.

Anyways again the right thing to do would be contact 3clipse via pm before posting in the thread.

The link from BLT showed a headlight insert design which had the word
    XENON
embossed, which is probably a good thing for someone who is dismantling their headlights to make them 2K replicas because you would not go to all that effort and not replace the guts with HID and new adjustment gears.
The word XENON is probably something the cops will look for (it will help when you try and BS your way out of a defect)

So I hope these ionic inserts are designed to look like the real thing. Tried to find a pic on their website, couldn't see one.

As rob said, I have also recently purchased from IonicDynamics, hence trusting them with the quality and fitment of the product.

If anyone wants to take the gamble of buying unknown products from ebay, be my guest.
I personally, am more than happy to pay an extra little bit for quality.

There are no pictures on the website because these haven't been released yet.

If anyone has any questions regarding the Ionic Dynamics product, feel free to ask.
Apart from that, I'd appreciate any unrelated posts about ebay products to be kept out of this group buy topic.

The link is there now, if people feel the need to buy from there, they can.

to be fair carmad is a pretty active member of the uk forum & seems to have pretty good feedback.
Personally don't see the issue, this is a group buy about best price for a group of members, not fsbb.

    Anti 14.7 x 14.7 = 44.1

I have that bloke's foglight ducts and they fit brilliantly. Other people here do too. In fact I've seen many, many more people complain about Ionic Dynamics products' fitment... a higher price tag doesn't make it better, and buying it from eBay doesn't make it worse

Not sure if you're implying that I am standing to make money from this?

If people want to purchase them off eBay, sweet, go for it. I'm not stopping them.
If people want to purchase then in hand laid carbon, IonicDynamics does them.

I personally feel more comfortable buying from a company that I know, rather than some random eBay seller that I've never heard of.
In saying that, I've emailed them to get a quote on postage to Australia for anyone who may be interested.

Not for sale by business but it does introduce unnecessary confusion into an established group buy thread. Not against the guidelines, common courtesy would suggest you contact the organiser before posting. Nothing to do with me in this case and maybe I should keep comments to myself, but I appreciate how hard these things are to organise.

No not at all mate, was saying pointing out a cheaper option in a fsbb thread would be poor form but this is to the benefit of the 'group'.

& like I said, carmad isn't a random eBay seller, he's a long time member/company on the uk forum with a lot of positive feedback & would certainly be worth investigating.

    All good.
Heard back from CarMad with a shipped price of ?97 (~$180AUD).
I read into it a bit, and he seems to be pretty legit, with good reviews.

So, I'm going to put a hold on this group buy for now.
If anyone is specifically interested in the carbon ones, let me know via PM and I will re-open the group buy.
