Hey guys, as part of a "national" drag event I'm throwing at an invitation for Sydney members to head down to Western Sydney International Dragway for Synday Street Meets on June 29th. Other state co-ordinators will be organising similar things in their respective cities (there is already something underway for WA) with times to be pitted against those of other AUS300 members.

Everything you need to know is here http://www.sydneydragway.com.au/events/sunday-street-meet-2014-4/ -but particulars have been copied below. While we will be sharing WSID with the general public there will be prizes and cred unique to AUS300 :D

Can I bring my racecar? Does the car have to be registered?

    I'll be there.

One question - is it OK if you don't do a burnout to warm up your tyres before lining up? (I've never done a burnout - intentionally - in my life and don't particularly want to).

The tyres will grip better if you do -they have water down so it's not as rough on the car or tyres as just dumping the clutch in the carpark

One other question - how many passes does that $55 entry fee entitle you to make?

(I'm probably not going to hit me best time on the first go).

Another question - is it true you should be running lower than usual tyre pressure for the drag strip?

As many as you can on the day -there's no restriction other than the number of cars that turn up

So when you finish your run you just go to the back of the line again or something like that?

If you are running street tyres, burnouts don't really help. Drive around the water and stage up ;)

Good work Rob, sure to be a popular. I might see if I can take The Slot Car.

Shane001 unless the rules have changed, if unregistered you will have to get your car Tech Inspected. I would check this before you roll up.

    AUS300 Staging Lane

Guys WSID have just confirmed that they can give us a dedicated AUS300 staging lane so that we can keep the together as club. Another good reason to get amongst it :br:

AAU54U generally yes for the rear and suggest up to 50 psi hot, for the front for less drag. I ran 15 x 8's on the rear with high side wall drag semi slicks and ran as low as 12psi hot last time I went, as I had traction issues with very hard shock and spring rates.

I have contacted Sydney Dragway to clarify what is required for unregistered cars and waiting for a reply.
