VIC 27th of June AUS300 National Drag Challenge - Calder Park

Hey guys, I've been handed the reigns of organising the Vic participation for the national drag event. This will be held at Calder Park Raceway on the 27th of June. Other state co-ordinators will be organising similar things in their respective cities (there is already something underway for WA & NSW) with times to be pitted against those of other AUS300 members.

Street meets are a great way to try out drag racing and test the performance of your everyday street vehicle in a safe and legal environment.

Calder Park will be hosting ANDRA sanctioned street meets through the second half of 2013 so you can experience the thrill of Melbourne's own quarter mile.

Entry cost: $65 (includes $5 ANDRA divisional day license)

Spectator entry: $25

To go racing at street meets, all you need is a street vehicle that passes basic safety checks on tyres, brakes, steering and liquid leaks. If you race a vehicle with a manufacture date of pre 1 January 2008 you can run up to 11.00 seconds without the need for a tech inspection or ANDRA license. Vehicles manufactured post 1 January 2008 can run to 10.00 seconds without the need for a tech inspection or ANDRA licence. The goal is for me to get the zed down there with its new motor, failing this I'll be bringing my 31 for a cheeky squirt.

come on guys , lets get the show on the road , i hope im not the only one that will have a go , were are all you guys with these hi hp cars in vic. time to come out and play , dont forget this is for NA and TT its just a fun day , there is nothing serious about it , just come out and have a look or have a drive , , if you are new and have not raced before , you will have heaps of fun , its safe so there is not much to worry about , you need long sleeves and a helmet , it does not matter if your fast or slow its about having fun , and enjoying the day , so get your shit together and lets go

 

looks like ill be the only one going ,, dean wont pull his finger out . if this is the case , then ill give it a miss and go when i can , so either pull ya finger out and have a go , or you will let the forum down mr bRACKET. get your shit together and lets go blow some engines up your the one who put the post up so you should be front and center .

 

What time is it at buddy? I might come down... be my first drag, ever, but yeah at least it is a lot closer than Sydney's one was when I lived there, tis what stopped me most of the time going. Might do an oil change in the car first.

ill bring my bog standard maxima stripped down of all its weight and see what time i can run.... hoping for something sub 14 seconds..

 

prob won't be able to make the 27th, but had a look at other days they are holding street meets and they have one on my birthday so prob gonna do that one (8/8/14), and yeah just wanna check, this ebay helmet would sufficient for the event right?

fingers crossed i can make the 27th though, would be cool to participate in the national event, and runs on my b'day would be 8 days too late

 

I can't find any information on that site about the 27th of June? The date on the Calender (on both of those sites http://www.calderparkdragracing.com.au/index.php/events/2013-calendar and http://www.calderpark.com.au/events.aspx) dunno what the go with that url is, says 2013 even though its 2014, both mentions nothing about the 27th of June. Actually the only street meets on both sites are from next month for July?

 

Is this still on? If yes, what time?
