1994 (series 2?) TT engines vs series 1 differences

    G'day gents,

I really should know this but been out of the Z game for a while curious to know what differences might prevent a 1994 engine working with a car in a series 1 Z32?

My car is already a bit mismatched, it has series 1 CAS, series 2 PTU with adapter, series 2 injector connectors spliced onto the series 1 EFI loom.

Not worried about stock boost control solenoids, emissions gear or things like that but it's mainly stuff like idle control, CAS, TPS, lower plenum injector ports etc. What things are different? And if they are different, could I swap series 1 items onto a 1994 engine?

    Cheers

Ecu is the main difference. Went from and 8bit to a 16bit.

If it will run i dont know.

Everything I have read says that the 8bit will work in place of 16bit, right up to the 96 changes. Haven't seen it with my own eyes work though.

CAS plug is different, that will certainly prevent the engine from running. Pretty certain you can swap s1 CAS in without issue, certainly works the other way (new CAS on S1 engine).

You could always get a new loom from wiringspecialties (that has both S1 and S2 connectors where applicable) and then use any S1 bits you need to swap over.

In that case, may just end up swapping a S1 CAS onto it. Assuming the locking pin inside is the same?

Going by the info on CZP it looks like the TPS is the same from 89 - 95 so that pretty much rules out any other electrical differences.

I have a spare S1 IACV as well just in case that's different.
