    can we do it?

I'm wanting to push over 1G for racewars in 2015
I'm thinking new turbs will max out at around 720 at the wheels if im lucky
gunna jack the final figure with Nitrous Express direct port NOS injection wet system

Motor is a 5 year old 25000k "Built" motor, ACL pistons, Scat rods, commetic head gaskets, arp head and main studs, JWT r5 cams, blah blah blah
    new turbs are GTX2867s

my bet will be head gaskets blow before I make it down the air strip. Need to have car running and tuned feb to give me a chance to rebuild with L19s and alot more clamping pressure if she fails

Ideas, fails, etc welcomed, no negativity please without direct experience.. doesn't help anyone

You chasing this the hard way.

You'll need at the least a 30 series turbo, and with that custom manifolds and external gates.

I didn't think you could use NOS at racewars I know snowy and temora it's pump fuel only.

Your biggest enemy is your time frame to get this achieved in. If you said next November? Sure..

Gtx2867 will peak around 750rwhp-800rwhp and that's pushing them fairly hard on e85 @36psi territory.
Without the L-19's I don't like the idea of pushing that boost through the engine.

I love te idea and if you have the $$$ available I think it's doable.

I'm just concerned that with the time frame things may be rushed or forced and lead to larger issues

    NOS is allowed at racewars
L19s weren't around when I built the motor. So see how we go. I think this will be my Achilles
I don't want 30 series turbs as this car will be for circuit. Using nos to get to drag specs. :)
Racewars is only once a year

only have mildy ported heads, with 1mm oversize valves (cleaned casting flash, knife edged the divider and match ported to inlet and exhaust manis)
bronze valve guides, and JWT r5 cams

next motor will probably be off the shelf stage 4 heads from Z1. but I'm trying to get the job done on this motor first

I think the AMS exhaust manis would be more of an issue than the heads. and I'm really not sure the internal gates on the turbo will be able to flow enough to handle a 300 shot of NOS

I would go direct port dry with Bosch 2200 as your fuel injectors. If your going to run wet use a standalone fuel system running methonal for your nitrous fuel. They aren't that expensive and the benefits are huge.

Turbo is too small you should have got the 3076 kit from ash.

You can upgrade the head studs to 9/16 arps and run massive clamping force.

Keep it up. This will be epic :D

The suggestion that methanol be used with the n2o is sound advice.
    What fuel are you using?
Something like VP Racing's C16 would be a good starting point.
The head gaskets should be O ringed copper.
The exhaust will be glowing red hot turning to white, then see through.
How long will the engine have to go for?
Because it isn't going to last very long!

    United e85 race blend FTW.

water cut copper gasket with oringed deck (not head from my research)

make sure your haltech has a EGT alarm aswell. the e85 and Meth should help to keep it in check but it will rise and rise and rise. Im gathering your aiming for sub 20 second run so I think it should be ok as your nitrous wont be able to hit until long into the run (traction issue)

    edit: water cut (i think)

I think you're chasing the impossible trying to make a safe 1000hp on a responsive circuit car. But more power to you (so to speak).

agree dont think there is such thing as safe and 1000hp with 182 cubic inches

What you would need to do is run a dual tune/dual fuel setup with secondary fuel cell.

Flick a switch from "street/PULP" to "race/race fuel".

The most underrated member of the 300ZX community imo is Randy Roth.

Constantly people with big plans want to slip on the wizard cloak and waive a magic wand and become a legend in their lunch box.

99% of development is an extension of what exists.

Randy is running a 9.5 quarter on a street car with rubber.

He would be north of 800HP running "27 PSI Boost on Q16 race gas". (With NOS spool up.)

What you want is this plus a bit more.

hey guys, heaps of responses cheers

not going for safe 1000hp circuit car

safe use ultimately would be around 650hp for circuit use, hence the choice of turbos.. 30 series too laggy for cars primary use..

I'm turning the wick up for one weekend at racewars 2015.. not ongoing
if it goes bang so be it

also, I'm not planning on opening up the motor.. hence the reason i think headgaskets will be my achilles heel

fuel will be sucrogen e85 race fuel

twin intercoolers are custom units from PWR,

Nos will probably only be used once I hit 4th gear, solenoids will be controlled by my haltech.. cant use drag slicks at racewars as theyre not speed rated.. best tyre choice i can go for will be Advan A050 295 wide as they dont need heating up as much as others

cant seem to find large throttle bodies anymore..
