is your exhaust hanging properly? are all the hangers mounted so it's not bouncing up and down and flexing the flange between the dump/turbine housing? that's the usual cause and/or ground contact at your ride height. probably would pay to get a flexi joint in both sides of the exhaust.

have you got it tuned yet?

 

nah its all over the shop. i really need to get it straight haha.
annoying though, cause it had a really good seal with the screamer spacer. bah!

would have been movement as i was going up a steep incline, no contact was made.. yeah i'll be looking at doing that, thanks sandeep.

and nope no tune as yet, but not giving it a hard time etc.
goes in, in around 3 weeks time

well for those that read this..

the car has entered its 3rd and final build before even completing the last.
i picked up a sponsor late last week and its been decided that MRZEDX will now be a fully fledged track only zed.

on the cards in the next coming months (will be down by jan next year)
- full respray (again)
- new boots
- new coilovers / suspension
- cage arrives in the next week
- complete swiss cheesed interior and lightened panels
- upgraded brakes
- new fuel system

so ill update this next week when the new parts roll up.
and i have a new daily, a honda s2000 which ill update a new thread tomorrow !

 

Jesus an S2K now. That must be a tonne of fun, I love these cars and I'll own one eventually. Early model or 03+?

haha yeah al, it's a thrill to drive.
outhandles most cars through the hills (I.e- a.modified 32gtr) and it's in stock form.

went for an AP1 2000 model, 60xxx ks on the clock. couldn't pass up having a 9k redline haha.

 

Sick. Yeah I know, they have to be one of the best handling imports.. Double wishbone etc etc. I love them, reckon Honda made an absolute beast of a machine. They're understated in the styling department too which I like, don;t draw a lot of attention. What's the engine and exhaust note like at 9k revs? Awesome??
They don't need mods, most mods are a waste of time which is impressive.. I hear the AP2's are a little less twitchy at or near the limit. A lot of the guys on the MR2 forums upgrade to S2K's.

 

agreed there's not a lot of cars that can handle this good out of the box.
tbh I wasn't a fan was looking at the 350z but took it for a spin and fell inlove. the 350z lacked the sports car feel for me.
haha you have to hear it to explain it. a noticeable pull from.6-9k and sounds fantastic. lots all stock bar CDA intake system and it already sounds good.

power wise it keeps up.with a stock s15, 32gtst's but a 32gtr at 14psi pulls away so it's not to slow for an NA.

You appear to be a very level headed bloke.
There were a few places in your build thread where I inserted a few expletives.
eg. The nice old lady modification.

That 3M plastic looks good in the pictures.

it's very easy to be level headed online but in person when it's to do with zeds who can be.
haha yeah that was years back, relatively easy.fix, the newer stuff as in the turbo gasket letting go isn't as easy

3M wrap looks good, but in actual fact, sucks haha! lasted a week before binned it.
read on further and ull see why haha

 

Had a brief moment of insanity where I had the zed up for sale but meh.

day 1 of Rspec- exterior.
fixed my dump / turbo gasket, put stock suspension and wheels on just to roll it in and out of places.



expected ETA on the exterior is by December 15th. major work starts on the 1st so need to get everything done.

 

well,

you know its a sad day when you walk outside to see a half finished project and realise the passion for the car is gone.
Its been my life for the last 5 years, this forums been my home and I've made some great mates and enemies !

but all good things must come to an end.
my zed days are over, must admit while I am sad I'm kinda happy too, no more ptu, overheating or stupid temperamental crrap.

so thanks to everyone who followed or read the build. its been fun to say the least.
I got the car to where I wanted it now comes it's destruction, it's being parted out.

check the for sale section later on tonight.
