big cheers to tekky for coming up with a cruise route on short notice. also great work RZM for not giving up on cruising today.

Well Vince, his son Chris & I had a lovely catch up this morning at point danger waiting for everyone to arrive, but by 10:30 we were kinda wondering where people were... surely the airshow traffic couldnt have been this bad?

luckily I'd brought the missus who luckily had brought her iphone, turns out G.O.R. is not happening today, bugger...
it did pour most of the day in anglesea so maybe not the worst decision to postphone it, but dammit I was excited!

so this better not be postphoned for too long cos I'm hanging for a cruise!
well looking forward to some photos of what happened today, bring em on!

Thanks to RZM & Tektrader for making today happen.
I arrived at Todd Road a bit after 9am to see quite a few members there. After a few minutes we spoke to Kr4usy and it was decided to go meet him at his place. We stayed there for a bit while RENZED & KR4USY got a quick wash and the rest of us had a chat. We then took off towards Tektraders house.

I gotta ask those that were at Todd Road did the weather clear up? I got a good spray on the way back but cleared up by the time I saw AdamZX on the road.

 

Well Craig and I got back around 9pm...Will get photos up soon, well might be tomorrow..

Would just like to thank everyone coming to meet Andrew, Craig and I, I was getting worried that we weren't going on a cruise at all..either way, had a fantastic weekend taking photos of my zed all Saturday and all Sunday..

And Andrew, thank your parents again for allowing us to stay at your house again , but next time you have to come up here

 

Dave, no rain after Todd Road until the end of the day, about 4.15pm. While waiting for Puffing Billy to chuff past again it started teeming down so we called it quits.

 

I'm glad you guys put off the GOR cruise. The bit between Beech Forest and Lavers Hill would have been quite nasty in/after the wet!

Four of us "southwest" members went for a drive down to the coast instead of trying to play catchup with the metro members

Ran from Geelong down to Camperdown then turned south .... mainly sticking to the inland roads we found ourselves at the 12 Apostles site..... bloody windy & wet !!

Even tho this section wasnt on our GOR route the road condition was bad...... leaf debris has been squished up into pulp and the oil thats in the leaves is visiable on some sections of the damp roads, private gravel driveways have washed out on to the blacktop adding a new demention of gravel chips and slips.....

Although there were only 4 cars in our group I saw all 4 cars "step out of line" at differing stages, I certainly had a hard time with mine wanting to drift out at the slightest hint of over acceleration... a day where a feather touch on the throttle was required at all times !!!
Even my favourite section ( that I know better than the back of my hand) saw my zed 4wheel sliding at a speed that was well under that of driving it at "normal" speeds in the dry......

All up ..... smart move to postpone the run for a couple of weeks, it will take that long for the road to return to near normal grip levels.

until that phonecall about a blown clutch line......

got home just before midnight as a result....
But so did that certain yellow zed with the holed clutch line.... you wont belive how we fixed it .... dodgy bros rock

Puffing Billy Cruise (Dialup unfriendly)

Thanks RedZedMickey and Tektrader for organising a great day out on such short notice. I had a great time and really enjoying catching up with everyone. I had been dieing for a zed cruise for at least a year now and yesterday i was happy to be out cruising with a couple of zeds to satisfy my zed cravings :zlove:

My timetable layout my be abit out but it gives u a general idea of how the day went. Lots of photos too around 100 i think maybe more so it may take a while to have them all up quickly.

8:00am - 9:40am
Got to Todd Rd around 8:30am. Was good to know there was at least 5-6 zeds waiting at the servo by the time i got there. I was dedicated to stay regardless of the weather and or cruise destination.

Took some quick snaps of the few Zeds. BigCol arrived 15mins after i did, so missed out on getting his car at the servo.

10:20am - 10:50am
Took us a while but eventually RZM got in touch with Andrew (kr4usy) and we decided to head to his Kr4usy place to meet up with Andrew and Renee (Renzed) where we were going to figure out where to go next.

10:50am - 11:40am
From Kr4usy's place we headed to Tektrader house, took us about an hour to get there where lots of stopping and starting due to a bit of traffic and traffics lights slowing us down. Oh and Kr4usy diverting during the trip to pick up his girlfriend Amy, which was so sweet of him.

Here is everyone at Tek's place. Didnt think everyone was going to find a park but we did. Had a little Cruise meeting with map instructions by Tek and then headed off to our next stop. Lunch

12:20pm - 1:40pm
About a half hour later we arrived at our lunch stop destination. Tek took us through a heap of twistie roads through thick bush land which was a little scary at some points for me. But it was fun.

1:40 - 4:00pm
Lastly we ended up at this old wooden train bridge where Puffing Billy(an Old Steam Train) was due to cross shortly. After some clever shuffling and sorting of cars we ended up with a perfect group shot of all the Zeds all lined up. We waited about 30 mins for Billy to come by which was worth the wait in the end.

I headed off home with Mark(Jedi77) and it bucketed down.

Thanks mate, im actually very impressed with some photos i did take. Some of Renee's car i think she will really like. It was my pick of the day. Hope my zed will look that good when its down.
