- DELAYED/CANCELLED - 2009 Aus300zx.com Calendar! :(

Due to a major meltdown of my computer, it looks like there will be a delay on the first Aus300zx.com Calendar I have lost nearly 9,000 of my own personal photos, including the entire collection of images I had spent close to 100hrs producing for the calendar! With quotes of up to $2,500 if it can be recovered, this is simply not something I can afford to do as a individual.

I'm looking at all of the options to rectify this, but if they cannot be resolved in the next week there simply wont be enough time to finish and then manufacture the calendar ahead of its Christmas/EOY deadline

Depending how people feel, I am open to ideas of still attempting a delayed early 2009 calendar which I would suggest would be turned into a 13 month calendar to make up for not being out before the start of the year.

I have made this thread to let people know what the situation is, as like a lot of other people I was looking forward to having my own custom 2009 300zx calendar!!

If you were interested in buying one of these calendars, I'd like to hear some feedback of what you would like to do as a member of the forum.

i am IN .. whatever the production date .... !!! ..my interest, in the main, is the collection of ZED pics ..

so no problem for me ....

 

Andrew, just some trade input here my friend...

As a lot of people here know, i work in the printing/advertising industry. I quite often receive calendar jobs that are even into February of the actual year when they get printed. At the end of the day, you don't neccessarily need to have it delivered by the 31st December to be effective for the year ahead. Even if there is a delay you'll still get a very similar responce from most of the people in the EOI for orders.

Put it this way mate, I'll still be ordering my 2 calendar copies off you even if they aren't ready till February!

It'll all come together in the end Andrew, even if there is a bit of a delay. I wouldn't stress too much about it - even though i know that you don't want to let any of the aus300zx crew down, we will understand if there is a slight delay. :zlove:

You do great quality work mate, and it will be a quality product when finished so we'll be prepared to wait a bit longer for it.

Data recovery is nasty business. And it is really crappy when you know how much hard work is lost along with the data itself. So I'm very sorry to hear there hasn't been a better outcome for this so far...

..but I'd like to emphasise like all the others above, that if it didn't arrive til June I'd still get mine. This is just a hiccup for what hopefully will become one of aus300zx.com's great traditions in years to come. Keep the head up mate.

Remove your HDD.

Wrap generously in bubble wrap, send to me. I fix, send back to you.

There are somethings that need a cleanroom to repair, but if the drive is functional, please PM me, so we can talk.

im still in for this too andrew regards of the delay. Very sorry to hear about the computer problem. What happened im interested to know how the data got lost. Probably nothing i can do to help but you never know, im a bit of a computer wiz but probably not as good as pex.

 

I know how you feel, I've been having similar ongoing problems for several months.

I'm still in, no matter how long it takes.

Yeah I'm still in for the calender, even if its late..I got a cheapo dog one as well, so I can use that for the mean time

I think you were hard pressed to have it complete before Christmas as it was.

why does it have to be a calendar? why not just a nice collection of zed photos? just a suggestion.

Still in....I get the impression everyone is feeling the same - we are sad that you lost your pics (that would kill me), are very thankful of the effort you are putting in, and we weren't going to use the calenders anyway - we just want to look at the cars (so we will pick up a Crazy Clarks one in the meantime ).....hang in there.......everyone is on your side :zlove:
