After reading of all the fun that was had on the other side of the country ive made a few inquiries about holding our own Motokhana event. Venue will be the good old Mt Cotton driver training center. I have 3 dates available for August, 3rd, 17th and the 31st.

Now I understand that 571CKY has a drag night organised for the same month and I dont want to take away from that. If it is better for everyone I can look into dates in September.

Also if there is enough interest we can organise a skidpan session for the same day, (at extra cost of course)

    Motokhana + Skidpan

    Hey guys,

I was lucky enough to do a Porsche day at mt cotton earlier this year (supplier looks after me :D) was an absolutely unreal day besides the inches of rain sitting on the track and the pan but made it interesting.
I will most definitely be in and depending on price I may have my partner also have a drive!!! (great skills to learn) just fingers crossed falls on an available weekend.

Here are some pics from the Porsche day, didn?t take too many but will give people an idea of the fun had and skills you can learn. :zlove:

Motokhana is a timed event where you dodge witches hats in a laid out course on a large patch of concrete. A decent course will involve both high and low speed turns, slalom runs and most likely end up having to stop in a "gate". You are penalized time for hitting hats. He who is fastest through the course is the winner. The first photo from the porsche day was a motokhana event.

Price will be $110 for the motokhana session per head and I have a minimum booking of 12 cars. For you money you will get 1 practice and 3 timed runs of 3 different layouts on the manovering pad. Skidpan will be extra $$$$

However there seems to be more interest in a Skidpan day again. So I will be starting a new thread in regards to that.

I'm interested, however, I can't do Early August since I'll still technically be in recovery, my Father's 70th birthday on the 17th, can do the 31st or anytime in September except the last weekend

    Cliff.

Hey 571CKY, it could well have been do you know him??
I'm just a little unsure as.... I'm heart broken about the day sadly :(

On the motokhana event it came down to the second place getter being i think 'cliff' it was a skinny older fellow that bit is right hehe ;) and me who was coming first at the time (the youngest fellow in the entire group :D), he ran an ok time and completed without doing anything wrong then i ran last was well over a second quicker then him BUT where you stop inside the hats i overshot this a little the front of the Porsche was sticking out around 200mm over... as i said heart broken i was disqualified... nerves..

I have a group photo of the day i will put it out tomorrow when i think of it see if it was him :)

    MOTOKHANA

For anyone who has not done one of these, now i know exactly what part the motokhana is this kills the skidpan. just my personal opinion though just skidpan was alright trying to control the car from sliding out but the motokhana requires so many different skills is great.

    I'm in :D:D:D

Yup. He's my boss and the owner of City Hire. Buggered if I could remember the supplier but he was gone for the day "to run porsches around the skid pan at Mt Cotton." When I heard that I really wanted to go :D That was earlier in the year too so it had to be.
