    Plenty of these imports

Sitting on the Wharfs where i work, brought into the country by the uninitiated, without the correct paper work and proceedures followed.
Seized by customs, building up wharf fees at a great rate, till they are no longer a viable proposition and abandoned.
Awaiting their doom at the hands of the crushing machines.
The original seller and Sims metal are the only ones who benifit from these transactions.
Makes your heart weep when you see some of prime examples, Mercs, Porches, Skylines and Zeds, heading for the scrap yard with their nice wheels and mods and knowing they are going to be made into the next dog and cat food tin.
So my advice would be to use only reputable importers to bring in your next pride and joy, because if the deal seems to good to be true, it probably is.

    I emailed the seller

a few days ago and asked why they were advertising on OZ ebay when they can not be imported anymore and they emailed back saying that they could be and they have done many times!

As you guys have said, this could cost someone a lot of money. It should be reported to ebay.

I am of the undertsanding that they can be imported but clearly there is a myriad of regulations and hoops that you would have to negotiate. There are some 1997 models avaialble with an importer in Melbourne so they must still be bringing them in John. Or do you know something we don't???

Massive trap for young players there. and the car's a P.O.S too. I hope it wasnt any of you guys who have bid the thing to 3k.

If you dont have an import approval before it gets here, customs will crush it

    It's not that complicated!

At the risk of doing myself out of an income:eek: ..........anyone with a little nouse and some time on their hands can import. Just read the regulations, make sure it's a model that is eligible and find a trustworthy supplier in Japan.

Then of course you need people on this end such as a Customs agent, contact at AQIS etc.

My advice.....stick with people who know what they're doing (read: such as myself:zlove: ) and you won't do your money! For the small sum of money I charge for my time and effort you will save yourself a whole lot of financial pain and emotional hurt. It's not a nice thing seeing that car you have your heart set on .........being crushed at SIMS Metal!:vomit:

I also emailed them John and this is the reply I got:

It is possible if it maintains it at the designated factory.
