[VIC] GOR CRUISE #6 - by BigCol & BADZX

Well, here it is!


Date: Sunday April 13
Departure Time: 9am Sharp (do not be late as we will not be waiting for people and it will be worth not going out the night before)
Departure location: Todd Road Shell Service station near westgate bridge (outbound side)
Destination: Some point way way down the great ocean road!
Lunch: We will be stopping in Apollo Bay for lunch. There are plenty of takeaway shops to purchase food from, and we intend sitting on the foreshore to eat as a group unless the weather is inclement. Should this occur we will try and get a meal at the local pub.

All the same stuff that applied to previous GOR cruises (and in fact all aus300zx cruises) will apply on this cruise ie no stupid stuff. Anyone doing idiotic things will be asked to leave. This is a CRUISE not a race. We are all very aware of how good our cars are so there is nothing to prove. That is not to say we can't enjoy ourselves but just don't be dumb about it.

We would also like to re-iterate some new changes since the last cruise:

* There are 40 police currently working the GOR during daylight hours, they have several mobile speed cameras and fixed cameras on the go.
* These police are highly mobile and can setup a 'site' in under 2 mins then pack & shift before the"word gets around" about their location.
* They are not restricted to cars, they are using everything at their disposal including 4x4's/trail bikes/road bikes/pushies/jetski/ and a chopper to catch 'offenders', they are even using foot patrols aswell.
* They are also VIDEO taping traffic with 4 camera setups on mobile platforms, infringements are being issued with video footage being used as 'evidence'.
* They are catching HEAPS of people
* Its paramount that 'members' understand that the GOR is NOT the place to misbehave on

i would come but....

my 18th b'days on 14th of april that means i just miss out on getting my p's on that weekend by one day and u guys are pretty much going past my place as well (just off the torquay highway).... oh well there will be more, look out for me on the next cruise down my way!!!

Thanks Col, definitely coming to this! Got my fuel voucher set aside for the day already to get a nice full tank. Speedo is now all fixed as of 4.30 today (thanks for the loan cluster, came in very handy).

Looks like my assistant will be along with me to help take some photos/video of the day
