    Hey guys,

The Service manual is good, but it can be hard to navigate through. I was looking at fixing that. I'm going to create a searchable version of it and am doing so with the broken up version (1 file for each section ie. Brakes, front suspension etc.).

BTW, does anyone know of some good software to join alot of small pdfs together? I googled and there's heaps out there. Does acrobat do it fairly easily?

The pdf looks the same as normal, but all the text is searchable and you can copy and paste it as text etc. etc. This is the Engine control, fuel and exhaust system section (FE):

    Original FSM-FE (138 kB)
    Searchable FSM-FE (84 kB)

I was so going to do this... I was chasing a good FSM manual at one stage to scan at better quality and run metatags through it all to make it searchable. The quality of the scan that everyone has is shit in my opinion

Acrobat 8 pro will concatentate PDF's

Yeah, I'm using some OCR software called ABBYY PDF transformer that changes all the words into...well words haha.

I can make it into doc format too, but obviously the pics stay the same. Can't really fix that part and a few words here and there don't come out too well due to the quality of the scan. For example, the second page of the FE section in doc format reads:

    • ? When removing acceterator cable, make a mark to indicate lock nut's initial posrtion.
    • ? Check that throttle valve opens fuHy when accelerator pedal is fully depressed and that it returns to Idle position when pedai is released,
    • ? Adjust acceterator cable according to the following procedure, Tighten "adjusting nut" until "throttle drum" starts to move.
    • From that position turn back "adjusting nut" 1,5 to 2 turns, and fasten it with a lock nut.
    • ? Check accelerator control parts tor improper contact with any adjacent parts.
    • When connecting accelerator cable, be careful not to twist or scratch its inner wire.

Just a bit off haha. But for searching the pdf version it's great. Will take me a while though, cause the software is at work lol. Give me a week or two.

    I've got one

Each one processed to be searchable.

I prefer it split up as when downloading u can grab just the section you quickly need. Also it didnt want to merge the table of contents sidebar from each pdf.
