hmm, I got quotes from ABS on a couple of different things, both times they were 2-3 x more expensive than others.

bad experience with precise (before i decided to do all the work myself):

    - they fitted a new top radiator hose ($96) without even asking me if i wanted it.
    - found my CAS rotated to full advance position after they did the 100k service. i asked them why and was told "oh we normally put a bit more timing in these cars as they always run rich and makes them go a bit faster".
    - they also left several greasy hand prints through my interior

Hahah I blue my top radiator hose on the way to Toms and so I called him up and he was out in a flash and replaced it and toped up my radiator for me and the hose only cost me $10 :D

i would recommend PZP aka Tom and he was very helpful and didn?t hesitate to come help me on the side of the road in my hour of need
BUT don't let him near ur seat belts or they will get broken :p jk

    esp with the Presice comment

    NEVER AGAIN

Back in the day went to them to fix cooling problem, took days to fix, finally got it home, drove it again the following day and exactly the same problem, waited 6 hours for them to fix it the second time too, took a whole 5 mins to do...

Sorry Mgr Dave, ripped that presice sticker straight off, funny the name of the buisness far from "presice"

    Had a pleasant experience ....

Cause my Z has been serviced since new (by the book) by the same Nissan Dealership I decided to go there.

Now I know that you do pay 'top dollar' for Labour charges and in cases parts .... but I thought I'd take a punt.

Well they gave me a quote, checked everything they were suposed to and replaced little things at no cost.

I had to replace a master cylinder as mine was weeping .... they asked me if I wanted to recon it or get a New one or get an after market one that they would be happy to cover by a Nissan Warrenty (saved me some big dollars in the end).

Oh yeah and they rotated the tyres etc. Even got a list of everything they did with the mechanics name (I spoke to him in length about Zeds) ..... then 1 week later the service manager calls me and asks am I happy and if I like they are more than happy to check the brakes etc and make sure everythings OK!

Yeah I know you pay for these things BUT I like alot of you guys on the forum don't mind paying for work as long as it is done and done properly ....

Oh yeah part came from over east so they gave me a car overnight !

Plus with a big dealership there is more of a comeback if something goes wrong ... oh yeah the service manager was a rev head so that helped!:D

    ok i got a couple....

bob jane tyre centre in morley, great service in getting my wheels brought over from eastern states when i couldnt get them anywhere else
also cypher industries in o'connor(i think thats the suburb) did a great job on my manual conversion,it took longer than quoted, cost more than quoted (not much more and told in advance all the way) but the difficult job was done properly, first time and wouldnt give the car back half finished, which in my book is good.....so for them overall a good job....
pzp has been helpfull to me with a few things, and have decided to be a prize sponsor for the upcoming perth dyno day,top marks to tom:D

    OK, here are 2, 1 good & 1 bad:

    BAD:

    Precise Suspension & Automotive, Wangara

They dicked me around for 2 weeks, would not tell me how much they were going to charge me until I was lumped with a 4 figure bill (twice what was quoted), set up the SAFC incorrectly and consequently stuffed up the dyno tune (and still charged me for it).

I also noticed when changing my brake pads later in the year, they had put 2 outer pads on 1 caliper and 2 inner pads on the other

Bad price, poor service and poor work.

    Avoid at all costs!!

    GOOD:

    Cypher Industries, O'Connor

$1000 for an auto-manual conversion, got it right first time and only took 1 week. Good service, willing to stick very close to quote (under in this case :) ), consulted with me when there was an issue.

    Highly Recommended!!

    Cheers
    Rob

I didn't realise there was such love for "Precise" on here! Before this thread there was always praise for the place - least what I read.

    GOOD:

Speedworks in Osborne Park, despite what some people reckon, they've always been brilliant with my car and upfront etc.

Bob Jane in Osborne Park, week before christmas got my rims over from the eastern states and gave me better tyres for no extra cost - a way of apology for a minor stuff up. Great service and follow up attention as well.

City West Automatics: An absolute pro, pulled my gearbox apart, everyday they rang and gave me updates on what they had done and the plan for tomorrow. Clean workshop, and fast repair.

ABS Osborne Park, fixed my brake master cylinder in a day, again excellent service.

as for bad, no where has really screwed me over.

price-ise ... Dave and the fatman

Don't ask first and charge like bulls.

Most gold comment was on my service report that my front pads were fubar and rear tyres needed replacing. Funny that since the pads had less then 500km on them and apparently the squatting from the IRS in the back of the zed destroyed my rear tyres which are still on the car with heaps of thread today ( Unless Marco has now hammered them :D )

Getting the WRX serviced is such a nice change as MMS in malaga, and RMS in Carlise have provided great service and products and I nearly fell off my chair when they actually called me to discuss the car.

He he only a little bit of hammering so far:D Cant say what will happen though once i've saved a few more pennies and get this baby dynotuned :D (so long as I figure out how to install the damn ebc & fmic  )

But seriously, the brakes are great, they just sqeual like a stuck pig (awsome stopping power though). Tyres are still in pretty good shape as well, only a few burnouts to their name :D
