Just wondering... ive got the FMIC group buy one. And i want to know how people went with it. Instalation and performance results. Ive got stock turbos but its boosted up to 12-13. Just had it dyno tuned and wonderin whether ill need to do it again. Any info would be great! cheers
you wont need to do it again, i lost power it hink or it seems that way as i am running less than stock boost atm so just more lag for me
baz, your top 2 clamps are most probably leaking as mine and another zedders were, that will cause boost to drop and less power and more lag.. besides these fmic's dont give you power, infact smic's are better performance wise, i just like the look. yes you will need to re tune it.
Yeah when i seen how big it is i thought hmmm here comes some lag. but if i ever upgrade my turbos itll be good for that...
all clamps checked numerous times and tightened, there was more lag b4, i have fixed it now but as im only running 8.5 psi it has just created more lag than b4, im turning it up soon.
the top 2 clamps on both sides dont tighten enough, i had mine tightened 100% of the way so did the other z and it still leaked like no tomorow, boost leak test it and you'll see what i mean. the clamp doesnt have enough thread.
trav your arguement is invalid.. you dont know how to tighten somethnig properly.. i used the stock clamps (bar one coz i snapped one) and i am not leaking at all.. boost leak tested.. maybe it was jsut a problem with GB 1... and gb 2 has been fixed as will gb 3

His talking about the clamps that come with the kit... He is correct.. Like what was stated in another thread and also at the tech day... My FMIC is still sitting here doing nothing might get rid of it... But i got my pipes modded I should thow some pics up of them...
Trav is right the clamps touch the ends of the clamp and wont go no further. Stu (hyper101) also has the same problem. Simple fact is the clamps are just slightly bigger thats all. I too have the FMIC just sitting here, will install it one day!!

So the question is: are the clamps correct in the latest group buy? Also a different question; I want to paint my FMIC black, so it isnt noticeable, what paint should I use?:zlove:
A couple of the clamps like what was said are not correct as in when you do them up its not done up enough and you have a boost leak... But yeah pretty much try them out if you got boost leak change the ones that are making the leak... I am yet to test mine but a couple of melbourne boys have had leaks and yeah changed the 2 clamps over that were leaking and no more leak...
