Acquired 300zx 1993 twin turbo a few months back and am Brisbane Fitted new tyres but alignment is -2deg camber after using all adjustment. Im told by aligner should be around -1 deg for this car. Old tyres had worn more on inside Checked height 330 front, centre of wheel to arch 325 rear, centre of wheel to arch Other posts say stock height is 370, so either has been lowered in past or springs sagged, and camber is out because its lower. Doesnt have coilovers Ground clearance is a bit of an issue for street use, only street use, so would prefer to get back to stock height and hopefully camber gets back to spec Have seen KYB excel G shocks/Std King Springs suggested, have seen price online has supply only around 1100 Kings springs catalogue says KDFS-86 front (standard height coil) lowers a turbo version , is this the case Also have seen DGR coilovers for 1300 supply. Could just use these and adjust up to standard height. Am I on the right path here, any other suggestions Any recommendations for fitting in Brisbane
They handle a lot better with 2 degrees of camber. Reducing front the toe-in should reduce the inner tyre wear.
Mine is setup at -1 front and rear using camber kits. Alignment shop says 'perfect'! Even tyre wear all round including on the inside of the tyres. Using the Hardrace (blue coloured) camber adjustment kits front and back and castor adjustment kits for the front with rubber instead of rose joints. As for suspension, using stock front springs and lower rear springs to keep the rear low for an even look with Bilstein shocks which are rebuildable by Bilstein.
The above setup results in a smooth ride and great traction especially around corners that might have a sudden dip/surface irregularity which results in a tendency to unsettle the car. I would class the setup as middle ground, not hard but not soft either.
