Hello Team, The mechanic has told me that I need a new steering rack. Any ideas where I might source one, even if just the rack and the pinion? Also where can you get calipers rebuilt? Thanks, Roland
As that rack was out of my daily drive Z31, maybe try to get it refurbished as I never noticed any steering issues. I only had swapped it out as my mechanic said it needed to be replaced. He didn't say what the issue was. And I didn't notice any difference after I swapped it out either. Side note: our pulsar had a dead zone center movement before wheels turned, yet rack not "needed" to be replaced. We only replaced it as bought the wrong inner tie rods(parts car's PS model type) and once swapped in: a Massive improvement. Calipers: If the bore and piston are not pitted/scratched, you can just replace the seals which is DIY.
Note on the calipers, I was trying to save mechanic $$ time. The rack, I have a friend in Japan carefully looking for me. Will keep the thread posted. Does anyone know of a Japan based Z31 parts supplier?
