It's time to replace the oem front and rear shock absorbers on my daily driver 1990 Auspec 300ZX manual NA. I don't particularly want to change to coilovers, so I am currently considering either a set of KYB Excel-G or a set of Gabriel Ultra. Any advice or recommendations?
Personally I went coilovers but the kyb's have been recommended for years, there's probably good reason for that. There's a few different models I think but have a search on here to see what people normally run.
Have kyb agx on my car, there adjustable front and rear, pretty hard to tell the difference between the hardest setting and the softest, im calling bs on the adjustment side. But as a shock there quite good, bit firm when new, but now after 3000k they seem just right.
I ordered some kyb adjustable from Czp - including freight they were still cheaper than local suppliers . Having said that, they're on back order so I won't have then til mid January ( hopefully!!)
for the record: ordered this December, delivery was $198 and parts were about AUD$480. CZP are waiting on stock so delivery could be a while. I hoping some time in Jan.
