Z32 Oil restrictors, yes? No?

Hey all! Haven't posted on here in quite some time. Still working on getting the Z running many many years since starting on it.

I'm fitting slightly larger turbos than the factory ones, but cannot remember specifically which ones I bought all those years ago. They're Garretts and the plate on them has "WEM 25319" then under that "471171 5003".
Now, my question is.. the turbos have a little brass restrictor-looking fitting where the oil lines connect, do I need to leave this in place? The factory oil lines fit up just fine when I remove the things I think are restrictors, but if I leave them in place it looks as though I'll need some sort of adaptor.

From the Googling I've done I think my turbos are ball-bearing type. Though I'm not sure. If they are ball bearing, I'm inclined to think they do need the restrictors. If this is the case, how have you guys gone about adapting them to fit the factory oil lines? (I have braided lines too, they just don't fit up with the factory OPSU - which I'd like to keep)

Leave the restrictor in. some journal bearing turbos have them to. The restrictor is there to drop oil pressure at the bearing for better spool up, and of course for lubrication and sealing.

If they are ball bearing you need to use restrictions and either buy or make some braided lines to suit.

Z1 list these as ball bearing turbos.

If you want some lines I can make some up for you. Can also supply components to make your own. Please note that RHD lines are different to the American kits as the passenger side goes to the oil sensor. Shoot me a PM if that’s of interest.

I suspect that the thing you’re referring to is not a restrictor but a flare adapter.
