Z32 Fast idle air regulator

    Hi having trouble with fast idle when engine is cold, I bought another so called working regulator off a wreck tha'ts cactus as well . Does a fast idle from a Z32 work on a Z31 does anyone have a spare that they may sell thanks Brian At the moment the car starts first time and I put the lights on to increase revs.

    Unfortunately the air regulators are two different designs.

    Yep I thought that would be a possibility. thanks. I'll see if I can take it apart and have a look inside

    The z31 air regulator. If you pried it open (to never be used again). What does it look like inside?
    as I have one that doesn't allow air to flow.

    I was thinking, It might be possible (or not) to tap the hole that the air regulator sits on and thread a suitable hose fitting to then use the z32 air regulator inline.

    OK I have a Z32 air reg have taken it apart [it fits a ZX31 opening]and will fit a generic choke cable back to under dash. I will take a few pics as to what needs to be trimmed and adjusted. Basically the trim tab that turns to open and close the vent was cut and spring return removed thus allowing the vent to open and close with no pressure. Some casting was machined away to allow for cable end to slide thru side of air reg. Stay tuned.
