So I've neglected the car the past 6 or so years. Due to finances, lack of workspace and motivation. And then on a rainy day in December, the ultimate disrespect happened. Some very determined theives got their hands on the car, and after multiple failed attempts took possession of the car by violently pushing it using a stolen station wagon. The car was not insured for theft, But luckily the car was abandoned, mechanically intact. But stripped of all the fun things I spent many hours installing. So this will be a work log of restoring the car to it's former glory. I think posting it up will be a good motivator for me. So I immediately picked up a spare window glass and installed it. So much broken glass everywhere! Occasionally you can hear little glass beads when closing the passenger side door. Next on the list was to see if she starts, I replaced the ignition barrel with 3 switches. two toggles for ACC & ON & then one illuminated momentary switch for START. I like it but it's so weird when you get in the car and you don't know what to do with your keys. I still need to use my keyfob remote to enter my garage. So I can't leave them in my pocket. After a good charge of the battery, she started first go! I reversed it 2M down the driveway, and then back to it's original spot. Couldn't take it for a test drive without mounting on the new licence plates. Feeling rather depressed, I did not touch the car again for 3 months. Left it outdoors in the sun & rain in Mum's driveway.
