The long story, changed the PVC's, new O2 sensors, serviced the injectors, new timing belt, new fuel filter, new spark plugs and general service and gasket manifold changed.

Car in 1st gear at times will be a dead pig, then once going and in 3rd gear all as normal. Loss of power is noticeable - Nissan scratch their heads, Mechanic is thinking cats are, any ideas would help as it's costing a packet.

Have you checked the tps voltage? Badly adjusted tps has caused rough idle and hesitation for me, also if it's losing power until 3rd maybe you have a vacuum leak?

    Checked for any ecu codes?

If you have an ecutalk or something like that it'd be handy to get some readings from the ecu it might help determine the cause.

Thanks for the points, do you know of any good nissan mechanics excluding Unique Sports that might be able to read the ECU ?

I don’t know where you’re located but if you want to drive up to Berowra I can run a scan and some other basic checks. Inbox if you want details.

Sure might take a bit of time due to the lag in first gear, I am in Ryde so not to far, send me the address and I could come on Thursday after lunch.

Hey its been awhile just wanted to ask the censor bypass that you did in march can you tell me what it was for ?

    Knock sensor bypass

Knock sensor for which part, as you said its a normal bypass that tends to need it. Sorry for asking as i got the speedometer fixed as the sensor inside the dashboard of the speedometer was not working. Got the gearbox done car feels better just for that 2nd gear low end load is like the car is choking or limp mode and then it takes off like nothing stopping it...

I change the air flow meter back to the original and it was much better but intermittent again on the 2nd gear at low speeds it just wont go.

I can't remember it registering an AFM fault or irregular looking signal. Been a while but from memory the only time it was sluggish was taking off uphill hot day and air con on? Has it become more consistent? Is the car manual or auto?

Yes it is happening everytime now, really sluggish , it i accelerate hard its better but obviously not right. Since then i had a few things done the crusie control switch was broken meaning it didnt register the cruise control off or disengage when brakes were applied and the speedometer gears replaced and the gearbox rebuilt. .... the airflow meter was changed and the spark plugs changed but after a month plugs are burnt cars running rich and down low it stutters... plus you changed the fuel pump and by pass the cencor via the passengers foot panel.

    Any ideas

If it’s running rich on a standard ECU and fouling plugs it could be oxygen sensors or leaking injectors. Both easy fix give me a call or PM if you like.

Oxygen sensors have been changed, timing adjusted , found a small air leak near the manifold .... car is till no power at take off 1st and 2nd gear power is down after getting up to 60km car is normal and can run.

I am chasing something but i dont know what or where to look now ...???

If you are fouling the plugs that quickly then it has to be Fuel: Air ratio. Have you tried another ECU because that's what controls the Fuel ; Air ratio. You say the AFM is good injectors are serviced and tested, fuel pressure okay. Any major performance tuning shop that does Nissan ECU should easily be able to pinpoint your issue.

Any chance your ecu has had a chip put in it by someone that thinks they know how to tune
seen it before the esiest was to tell is swap in a known good ecu
