Hi, I'm new to the Z world and just wanting to know if many on here have used these guys before?

I'm toying with a few ideas for my 300, most likely going with a fresh VG30DE rebuild, to keep things original.

Jeff has quoted me $2950 for rebuilt long motor, then $1950 to swap over the motors. - Drive in drive out job.

This price seems a bit too good, hence can anyone vouch for them?

    Thanks

Do you know the labour rate?
$130 and hour for 15hrs to R&R the engine =$1950
Nissan warranty normally allows 10hrs to R&R and engine by factory trained technicians, so a smaller workshop to quote 15hrs seems legit, really need to know the labour rate though.
Again for the long motor is that supply an already built one? rebuild yours if so what parts are you getting, minimum would be rings hone, bearings, gasket kit. Could be pistons, bore, bearings, gasket kit.

Hi morboost, thanks for the reply.

Good point, I forgot to get the labour rate. He informed me its an exchange job, so they supply a rebuilt motor and take mine once doing the swap.

However did say they are flexable and can rebuild my engine, would mean the car is off the road longer though.

After talking with him on the phone I did find one of his adds on gumtree.

Ok I see now, the long block is a fixed price, the labour charge is to R&R your engine plus swap over your top end with I would say a minimum of head gaskets. The only difference is if you rebuild your block is you get to keep your factory engine number. $3000 for a reco long block is a pretty standard price. $1950 to do the labour including workshop consumables and head gaskets doesn't seem to bad a deal, as far as the workmanship I cant help with that as I have never used them, as long as the quoted prices doesn't blow out I think your onto a good option, with a quick turnaround.

I just had a reply from Jeff's gumtree add, the price includes the heads been cleaned up and new valves, etc cost if you want new springs.

My personal experience is only small but I have purchased some second hand parts off them before.
Terrible customer service if there is an issue.

OK, recommend workshops for rebuilding VG's in the Brisbane region?

I just used the forum search and did see nizzpro use to post on here and other threads of him been recommended. These post do go back some years though.

I deal with Jeff a lot, I love his services. Bought a TT of him, bought engines. Even sold cars to him. I honestly can’t complain. I keep going back there even though I live in Sydney
